Dropped this drama twice within first 15 mins.. I guess its not worth watching it.. Not sure how this even got…
I thought about it too, specially when her(FL) mother drag her to the dentist. lol But few episodes after, story starts to be good. And all other characters are good (except FL)
Why I like this drama? Well... they showed us what is like a true friendship, how people and couples can change/grow , how maturity is not correlated with years. In this drama we have: Real life problems, thoughts, inner struggle,confrontation with given situation...of course, there are some stupid parts, but I tried to skip it. So .. friendship between 3 friends and stepbrother was great, I really felt the connection between them. 2nd couples were cute and very inspiring , specially Wu Ying and Liu Yu Cheng (his character was the best in the whole story). Without all of them,(2nd couples) story would be dragging and boring. Main couple was not so interesting. ML is cute and good actor, but FL was a bad choice. Her acting was so bad, I don't have words for describe it. Ending was good, except the part with falling books and engagement(main couple). Anyway, if you skip some parts with FL , story is great.
Ok, I give it an 8. The story has a great plot , but 35 episodes are to long. 24 ep. would be just fine. First 15-16 episodes I find it boring ( main couple were so irritating). After episode 16, I was able to watch the show without being annoyed by the characters. There are some holes in the story, so I needed time to catch up. For e.g. did they killed Yun Qing Xian? I like his character. Child for the broken family, eager for power and love. 2nd couples were nice, but nothing special. Of all 3 couples, Long Teng and Shu Ruo Chen were my favorite. At some point I thought I was watching latino american telenovela, because of the story with lost and find babies. Anyway, FL is not so good in this drama ( her best part was in The legends), ML- I don't know way, I find him really bad in acting... Always the same facial expressions. So this wasn't his best too. If you have time and energy, watch the drama, generally is not bad. You can speed up first part of the drama.
Finally ! Just finished last 2 episodes. This is the first drama where I didn't find some parts childish, immature and thanks god, its without cliches! Story is all about romance, dreams, accomplishments, success, support and trust. Its easy going and light, without schemes , scandals and love triangles. Main leads are perfect together, totally one for another. Sweet, cute, but without fire. Chemistry is mild. Love how they make this drama mature,..Finally sex is not a taboo. In every C-drama sex before marriage is 'omg, no'. Kissing scenes are quite good. Having a ML educated, smart but poor is believable, authentic ( in nowadays , having a high academic degree , doesn't mean you will have money to live comfortable). Without 2nd couples, story is concentrated at them only. At the first part of the show, they made a story with game really long, and after they got together, story didn't have any ups and downs. It was like sailing on a calm sea. To much time jumps. I love the actors but re-watching the show more then 2 times(max.) would be boring.

Step by step romance , or any romance is missing. The best parts are the last 2 episodes, without time jump of 3 years.Expected more from this show.

I know, I saw same cuts, but didn't start watching . Until all episodes are aired, I am out. I do not have patience to wait for days for new episodes. In SoY she looks cute and ML (love him from AMA) is nice, but i think she needs stronger ML. But its just my opinion on the first look. Can't wait to watch it , Song of Youth and One and Only :D

Yes , BaiLu is great actress. She has a great chemistry, in every drama, with her partner. I am waiting to watch all episodes at once. If you like BaiLu, watch Arsenal Military Academy ( best drama ever), Love is Sweet, The Legends...She really has a great dramas <3

Thank you for replaying. Few days ago, I finished 30th episode (YAMG), now I am waiting for English subtitle for last two episodes. And yes, I like it. Finally some drama without drama :D It's really refreshing. I'm in my 30's , so, concept fits perfectly. But I have to say, The Long Ballad is better,for re-watching. :D
Just finished re-watching it ( it's my 4th time). I know, I know, I'm crazy and obsessed. And every time I enjoy even more then the first time . Story, acting, OST..omg OST , It's my sleeping music... The Long Ballad with be perfect if we had actual kissing scenes, both main couples would have better image of their relationship. Soup opera is so amazing, just like Arsenal Military Academy, Word of Honor and Go Go Squid. You can watch these shows every month and never be bored. If you guys have any recommendations for historical/modern drama with great couples, strong FL,without cliches and of course happy ending , I would be grateful. <3
I really tried to like it. But no, I am so disappointed. Story had a good basic plot, but some actions from the beginning were unrealistic and stupid...like FL running around ML, teasing and lying to him. Time jump was unnecessary. Where did the 2nd leads disappear? What was about her dead friend and her job at the end, always problems with elevators, surgery??...And is there something between ML and his stepmother? That part of a story is missing too/ Ok , this was the first soup opera for ML, but FL ....her acting is always the same, in every drama. I should have drop it .The show is overrated.
W is a mess, but because of Lee Jong Suk it's a beautiful mess. Plot is good, parallel worlds, mystery, romance..but some episodes are boring , dragging and repeating , that made me take a break with the drama. Anyway, I love LJS and I will watch everything with him in it.
Huh, ok... Before I started with this drama, i read most of the comments. They were bad...but, even though I had low expectation, this was a real surprise. I don't know if it's because I'm not young and teenager, or I see all with different type of eyes. After some time watching Asian dramas and reading about their entertainment industry, I find this drama very convincing. Story is cliche- hate to love, but most of the dramas are. I put myself in FL shoes and i can imagine doing the same thing in an act of anger. Working hard but everyone is using you, being on the lowest position even though you're good in your job, find out your boyfriend have a male lover and he's using you to confirm his sexuality. Even with one problem, you can feel anxious but...you even got accused for something without having opportunity to defend yourself, just because the guy who accused you is a famous and arrogant. Add drinking and everything is on the perfect spot. After all the problems FL got fired. Yes, that was the last drop. So she acts out of anger. After some time relationship between main couple starts to improve. Knowing each other, seeing that you're not always the type of person you seems to represent is a good start . I don't find FL irritating, on the contrary. She's smart, brave,sincere and mature. She's ready to confront with everyone and everything. ML is cute, typical star, but in his hart he is a good boy without bad intentions. Every job have complications, lies and framing up. And in show business even more. So relationship between ML and FL being secret is understandable. And being together without a break up is really great . So one plus more for the show. So trough the show, we saw growing of two persons( she learned to control her temper, and he to confront with problems and not run away ). 2nd leads and their relation with ML is complicated from the start. 2 ML and his obsession, jealousy and envying are on another level. 2 FL is a emotionally fragile person. So when you mix this two , their relationship is a mess. We saw it clearly in the show. And no, I do not like the the ending for these two. They should have been separated to heal first, and after that to see what's going on with their emotions. OST is very like-able. Specially song ''It's You'' from Moon Kim. Anyway, for me this is a good, real life drama. Nothing in the world is easy, a worry free and no one is perfect. Communication and sincerity are the basic for every type of relationship. I'll re-watch this drama , for sure . Give it a try . We all have a different taste.
