Can't wait for the show. Read the novel in 2 days. It was great. They matched the actors perfectly. If someone can recommend some similar novels or shows, I would be grateful
I read it long time ago, I can't remember everything...but I think she got her (partial )memory for her 1st life when she was a kid . Until age of 10 or something similar, she already got her full memory. In the novel Ye Li was 15-16 years old when she got married. I remember , she was a female soldier in her 1st life and that was in modern time.

I find it very confusing, mostly because the story is totally different from the novel. They even changed main leads personality. Not to mention YeLI's hallucinations ☹️ Who's grave was it, in ep5? YeLI's grandfather? Is Lishen academy abandoned after massacre or there're survivors still on the mountain?

The show is great, give it a chance. If you like : actors, pre republican period, good story, crossdressing, friendship, a little bit of romance and action...you won't be disappointed. This is my go to drama. And kailu had great chemistry.
Binged it in 2 days. There's nothing confusing or boring about the story. Yes, there're more characters then usual but this is wuxia. Started the show with low expectations, but ended up excited and hooked..The only thing I wanted was more romance between the main couple, to be exact, dark romance...but ended up with mild, low romance . Still, it was great wuxia (like in old days). Recommendations for the show 8,5/10

Zhu yu novel was great, but in the middle of the series, everything went downhill. I've to say it was really disappointing. Of course, books are always better than adaptations. As for The Legend of Female General, enjoy, there're more romantic moments and Xiao Jue is definitely not cold,like in the novel.

No,no...her character is still the same and that's what I love. She is still brave, strong , good friend, innocent, fun, girly... What people can't accept here is her girl-ish mood and how easy going she is. Always dreamy and with the smile. They couldn't catch her real attitude and that her smile is just another mask she is wearing now. They think she isn't suitable for the general role because she is petite and high spirited. Xiao Jue's character is more romantic and warm here. As they changed the scrip, they added 2 times where Xiao Jue no is nothing like in the novel. 1st is when he finds out her real identity and 2nd is the totally unnecessarily added part..I won't go into details, but lower your expectations and just try to enjoy...see it as memory jumps from the novel.

Rebirth of the Star General is my favorite novel, but I love the show even though they messed up ,cut some good parts and added unnecessary scenes. If I'm objective, the show would be 8,5/10...but I'm not so 😁🙈

2nd ML saw her 1st time when she sold him a medicine and then in the brothel (both time she impose as a male).. just few seconds later , he saw her dancing in female attire . That was easy to catch. But Xiao Hue knew her as a boy with the mask . About 4 years later, he saw her face as a male( it is hard for us to process, but in ancient time, men , specially aristocrats, were with delicate and peculiar feminine beauty ). Show has its flaws, but if you liked it in general, read a novel, it's perfect.
In the novel she was 16, he was 21. In the show he was 4 when his mother died. At the same time when massacre happened FL's mother was pregnant with FL.
I never thought I would rewatch it after almost a year.... But here I am... Changing to higher rate....yet one thing stayed the same- it's my favorite character Wei Yan. He stole the show and my heart. Kudos to the actor who was breathtaking and astonishing 🔥🔥❣️
