She isn't always sad, she's introvert . And all her teenage years past in struggle with problems , physical and mental traumas. It's annoying when you can't empathize with the character. Try to look for another perspective

Yes, but she also needs a support. And we all saw Sang Yan is her person,the one who is allowed to actually be there with her and for her. Xu Kai did a great job in AMA. His other roles aren't that vivid. His grandpa and his dad wanted stability through marriage. In that time their position in politics wasn't stable because Japan took day by day, more power and local people suffer the most from it .
