You're impatient and your conclusion about their dragging out their status, for years... assuming that kind of behavior isn't not normal and it needs therapy 😂 have you ever met a couple who were friends first? If you're 30+, that wouldn't be a strange thing...😉

I just heard they made some changes. Rong Yu Die would be a perfect person behind the Qin's assassination. She always wanted to drag the Emperor down. What's the better plan then to present him as a murder of his younger? We will know in 2 more days (If I am not wrong, on 3rd w behave express package 🙈)

As you have seen, they spent their high school time together as bff, which is ok. They were separated while studying. Let's say , they were close because they had special feelings for each other ,yet at the time everything started, they didn't know what type it was. With time you make yourself comfortable to just spend some time or you just don't want to ruin that beautiful friendship, so you stay quiet in that friend zone. Nothing uncommon.
Now when one partner shoed signs of insecurity about their status,of course it's different. You know how the other one's breathing,but the status between them changes. now you're looking from another perspective, with insecurity and from different place. So, just because you know each other, doesn't mean you know each other in romantic way. It's even harder to start a relationship with someone who you know for years,then to catch up someone in the disco/bar.
In your 30s, you usually want to be even more careful with your choice for a partner... and take your time. I suppose you're in your early 20s, right? You'll see, everything will be different in a few years. You will change, your taste in partners will change as well, you'll know what kind of relationship you want . and for all that you will ' measure 3 times, before you cut it' . That's what is normal.

They're quite normal. You'll see when your puberty is over. Usually, you kids are speeding up everything, jumping from one relationship to another, trying to find yourself, find the right partner,or get hitched to the 1st person you met and start a family while you're still immature...then you try to save what can be saved with psychotherapy...
Not to mention, catching up feelings can be like this even when you're older (in your 50s and 60s)

3rd ml and his wife are a little boring for me, 2nd couple are cute, but they need more screen time .
As for main couple, I like how their story is going. I know we all want them to be together as soon as possible, but if they were bff for 12-13 years (if I'm not wrong), they can't just jump into relationship. Transit needs to be slowly, everything is changing...
Imagine just to jump overnight to relationship with your bff, and after a while you see it's not what you wanted and expected... You'll lose a partner and a friend. So going easy is just right.

Anyway, why the rating went down? 8.5 or up would be just right

I always thought Rong Yu Die was involved in prince Qin's(not sure if I got the name right) death..and that she wanted to set up that murder to the Emperor 😏

To be honest, Alen is good in historical dramas, specially when he plays strong characters(like general etc), Landy Li here Is good (I watched her just in The Starry Love) and they do have nice chemistry just the script is a big letdown.

Well, if WZ just captured and not harmed aunty Yan, that would be ok bc Emperor would take a pitty on her for JC sake. So WZ could've tried...buy the script was lame, specially today😏

I didn't expect Jiang Ci's shifo(aunt) was that stupid to be manipulated by Rong Yu Die. 😏 Not to mention Rong Yu Die's plan to remove Emperor, wtf was that....
Wei Zhao not moving a finger for Jiang Ci's shifo was a surprise...

Drama or novel ends that way? I still have hope that drama will have different ending from the novel.
