Agree, she's not very careful at all. I do love how ML goes out of his way to ward off any perceived threat to her.

It might have got a better pop in the ratings in the beginning but Tencent kept it off their WeTV app so it could be part of the licensing to Viki at a later date.

LOL. I'm coming from having watched 60 episode dramas before the rule change; thus, I was still getting used to 40 ep's and then it went down from there. As long as it doesn't go below 20...

It is a pretty laughable plot at this point the way you describe it, lol. Hopefully, they'll make something cohesive out of all of these loose ends. I think the industry should stop shorting the number of episodes so they can slow down and smooth out the story line.

Apparently that bone fragment is from the demon infant from 18 years ago, some super powerful creature for whom people should be afraid. I think it's connected to the ML's parent's deaths from some fire, for which he is currently investigating, The interesting thing is that he's supposed to be some kind of celestial monk but he clearly is developing feelings for her so we'll see where that goes. You're right that things would be much easier if they'd trust each other but I think some writers think it's better to draw things out. I really like the snake lady in this one. She's doesn't take any flack.

Finally, a 40 episode drama. So many have premiered with way fewer episodes this year..
