If she’s not the protagonist then she’s the antihero but I think it (the role) deserves a different label. Is she straight up a Villain? Not really.

He’s not trying to prevent her collapse he’s trying to cause it. Like the train analogy the train is barreling forward hurting people in its path so he’s trying to blow up the train to stop it.
For her that’s not the right question. Who does she have the most emotional attachment to is the better question. The ML since childhood but he isn’t exactly on same page as her. 2ML since school since he has the childhood trauma like her. It it isn’t romantic love for either. I don’t think she’s capable of that.
