Find Your Happiness to The End of The World

Kaleidoscope of Death

I know this book but haven't read it because of the horror elements, but super curious to watch it because of the 'accidentaly uploaded the whole 78 episodes' that I read about.

It was really a great series.
Funny, scary, sad, happy moments all through the series and also the bittersweet ending.

Damn... China really has their own way to create such a wonderful series.

Had it not been banned, I believe they would have created such wonderful BL series that would give such a crazy emotional turbulence to us.

The chemistry is great, LJS and RNZ were not the typical lovey-dovey pair but they had a deep emotional bond that reflected through their words and actions.

The deep gazes, the smiles, silly words and remarks.

Even without the sugar-coating romantic sentences or sexual physical contacts, we can see that they love and care about each other.

Everything is wonderful, I'm really grateful for those who managed to download the whole 78 episodes and willing to share it to the world.

The message that I got after watching it is that, never give up on reaching/creating our own happiness and be with our loved ones.

Definitely worth to watch and re-watch as many times as you like.

The Tale of Loyal Heroes and Righteous Gallants

Before Jin Yong's Wuxia heroes, there's Shi Yukun's The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants [1879]

Zhan Zhao was one of the Seven Heroes, a formidable martial artist, well known in Jianghu, a very loyal aid to Bao Zheng [Judge Bao] the Prefect of Kaifeng Prefecture in the Song Dynasty era.

My mother's love for Chinese ancient, classic Wuxia stories introduced me to Zhan Zhao's character and I fell in love with him. Zhan Zhao is truly my most favourite superhero.

During my teens, I spent my afternoon time by watching Justice Bao [1993] series.
236 episodes and none was boring.

Kenny Ho portrayed this character perfectly that for me, no other actors could surpass it, until I watched this Zhan Zhao Adventures.

As a very avid fan of Zhan Zhao character, I must say this version was second to 1993 series [for me Kenny Ho is still the best]

This production really showcased Zhan Zhao's personality.

Righteous, smart, benevolent, gentle, kindhearted, formidable, and handsome of course

We could also see Zhan Zhao's past as Jianghu's warrior, his regrets, his reasons why he avoided to kill but in the end he still ended up killing his enemy. [Zhan Zhao indeed avoided killing unless it's very necessary]

It also showed his conflicted heart, how he still believed in following the law but somehow also tempted to use his past act which was killing the villain.

Everything that I have known about Zhan Zhao was shown here in this series, including his famous red robe.

I'm truly impressed, a real embodiment of Wuxia, 37 episodes full of fighting scenes [that's what Wuxia should be] and in between those fighting scenes, we still can enjoy the story, the plot, the emotion, the conflicted minds.

Yang Yang really nailed this Zhan Zhao's version.
His expressions, gestures, personalities, and even the calm voice. He did a very good job as Zhan Zhao.

Alen Fang as Bai Yutang, a naughty, reckless, impulsive, a bit childish but a very loyal friend and compatriot.

He actually did very well job as Bai Yutang, but somehow he reminded me of Wen Kexing a bit. [gestures, expression, movement] but still a very pleasant portrayal.

As for Huo Linglong, she's an interesting character. Although young, she's quite mature and also smart, but sometimes looked like flat and lost words in the middle. Probably the script for this character was made like this.

As for other actors, all of them have done a good job, really. Even the villain can make me sad and pity them a lot.

This Seven Heroes and Five Gallants tale doesn't emphasize on romance, it's all about the journey in upholding justice throughout the kingdom.

That is why there is no romance in this series although we can see Huo Linglong's deep affection and devotion to Zhan Zhao, and Bai Yutang's ocassional tease but Zhan Zhao was either quite immune or dense.
[If you wanna know who's Zhan Zhao's wife on the Shi Yukun's original story, you can find it on the internet.]

I'm really grateful that the screen writer and the production team didn't change this into a romance series.

For Wuxia lover, you should not miss watching this series.
A very highly recommended series to be watched and to be rewatched.

仗劍三尺,江湖之外,紅袍展仁心,青峰昭律義
[Zhàng jiàn sān chǐ, jiānghú zhī wài, hóng páo zhǎn rén xīn, qīngfēng zhāo lǜyì]

Wielding a three-foot sword, beyond the martial world, a red-robed figure displays benevolence, while a green-crowned crane embodies justice and righteousness.

Face Your Own Demon

Such a sweet and heartwarming story about two men, who actually liked each other since high school but were separated due to the lack of communication. One was afraid after the 'rejection' and chose to run away, while the other one was kinda late to realize his own feeling and lost his man for few years.

The series told us that we should never avoid our own troubles, our own feeling, because one day, sooner or later, it will haunt us back, and to have a closure (happy or sad) is better than to avoid it.

Although it seems that the communication wasn't built well at the beginning (because LW avoided to communicate) but in the end, LW was brave enough to choose the thing that was best for him at this moment (stay with SKT)

The trauma of being left behind without any explanation (being ghosted) is definitely real. I could understand SKT's feeling about it. It's indeed a very unpleasant experience.

I have watched this series for 3 times, and it always puts a smile on my face each time after re-watching it.

Simplest Act of Love is Truly Wonderful

First of all, I never watched Addicted series, and only read the novel partially because it's too angsty for me.

I decided to watch SWM after seeing some tweets talking about it.
Kinda hesitated at first because it is said that the ending is too sad.
I'm really not fond of angsty story.

But I'm glad I did. It's truly remarkable and wonderful.

Wu Bi and Su Yu showed their love and attention to each other in simplest way, a way that they could do best without any exaggerated efforts. So simple yet so sweet.

For me this series is much more romantic than many other BLs series that I have watched.

A bit weird but after watching this SWM series, I haven't got any interest to watch other BLs series.

The secret kiss at the classroom is the best kiss compared with many other crazy and passionate lip kisses.

I watch that scene repeatedly and always smile foolishly.

Their family condition is what we can find in reality, that one family can be very loving and supportive, while other can be very hateful, judgmental, and super toxic.

They seem wanted to remind us that if we build our own family in a wrong way, it will cause a great damage in the future.

As I said in the comment section, knowing how crazy China with its censorship, I don't hold a high hope for a 2nd season.

This drama could be considered lucky for getting the permission to be broadcasted worldwide but not so sure for the 2nd season approval.

Either way, let's just cherish and enjoy this series as long as we can.

I'm just gonna re-watch that sweet scene now so I can sleep happily with smile on my face.

Awkward yet Lighthearted and worth watching.

It's light hearted series to watch. Too many flaws indeed but with a very sweet ending.

Two boys like each other. They are awkward, one is attractive and lively, the other is silent.

Early 2000 in Hongkong, they probably more open in mainland China but still quite conservative.

The production want to showcase the reality of two boys with their hormones liking each other. Wanna confess but afraid of rejection and losing everything.

It's indeed quite draggy with unnecessary third wheeling, thankfully it's still bearable.

As for the cast, they are all new actors, probably not having enough experience on screen, especially in BL series like this, so awkwardness and stiffness are expected.

But I'm grateful that they give a satisfactory ending.

Nowadays many series [BL or BG series] tend to give a bittersweet ending/open ending or separation or whatsoever.

This series gave enough time for them to be lovey dovey at the ending.

It's still worth to watch.
Rewatching it? I'll leave it to everyone's taste but I surely will rewatch the last episode if I need something sweet after watching a heartbreaking series.

Sweet Yu Lei and Chen Ke deserves some appreciation.

Everything should be started within ourselves

To be honest, I'm still a bit confused about the storyline since anything related to sc-fi thingy is really not my forte.

But overall, I can understand the big moral story here, that everything should be started within ourselves.

We should love ourselves before loving others, should be happy before making others happy, because how can we make other happy and loved if we don't have those feeling in ourselves?

The acting was great, I love to see Lee Tae Vin specifically because he could portray his character really well, the sadness, frustration, depression, and happiness, all those could be seen in his eyes, in his expression.

His chemistry with Cha Joo Wan is something that make this series loved by many. It is no wonder that this series has got such a high rating here.

The kissing scene at the beach is actually sweet and romantic but somehow the background music was kinda annoying for me.

It's really a worth to watch series, highly recommend it.
