Just... good?

I decided to watch this for EarthMix despite hating bodyswap storylines but comments encouraged me and you know what? They were right. The bodyswap storyline was done well and I didn't really mind it.

PLOT:
Overall the plot was solid and other than the unnecessary drama in the last two eps I have no complaints. The roadtrip concept was fun and the scenery was super pretty. The only reason the bodyswap worked was because there was never any doubt about who was who. They didn't drag it out or build it into a giant point of conflict, it was just something that happened. It was used as a tool rather than a main focus and that's why it worked.

ACTING:
The acting was good and Mix gave us another stellar performance. I felt like Earth's emotions were lackluster at points and I'm not sure whether that's due to his acting or the way his character was written. Jan (Lin's actor) was amazing and really surprised me. I'd only seen her once but I'm gonna keep my eyes open for her future projects.

CHEMISTRY:
As always, these two friends gave us a solid chemistry and a believable romance. I felt like the writing was a bit awkward in the last ep but they carried it through nicely.

CHARACTERS:
Let me start by saying that Win was a really hard character to like, at least at first, and I loved it! He was very flawed and the first episode was super hard to watch. His character growth was enjoyable and a big part of the show. I loved that no matter how shitty he was, he never did anything out of character. Every choice and reaction he had was very true to who he was. I really liked having such an imperfect main character.
P'Korn was lovely. I liked his character, he was just a solid dude. A good hearted, kind cook. Nothing much else to say about him tbh which might go to show a little about how he was written.
Lin's (the real one's) appearance was small and I didn't really get a grip on who she is. She seemed like a sweet girl with no will of her own which, meh, they could've done something more with that...
The aunt and uncle? Unnecessary. Honestly the show could've done well enough without them but they just had to bring in the mandatory bad guy.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
It was good. Nothing phenomenal, nothing amazing, just good. I mentioned earlier the stupid plotline that happened in episode 9 and it's the main reason I dropped a number down in my grading. They brought on this unnecessary thing only to end it in a conversation that could've happened without the plotline. It was useless and the show would've been better off without it but that's how it often is. We could've easily done just 9 episodes and ended it in a satisfactory note earlier on. I'm upset that the writers fell for another 'episode 11 curse' in that sense but well, what can you do.

There were definitely parts of this that I liked more than ATOTS but it's maybe not as good, overall.
