Also it’s HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY on the “yay communism prevails and brings out the best in us dialogue”. I mean let’s be real it’s mad for the Chinese audience so we can’t hate on that but it does make the dialogue quite forced 😆

Well here I am 5 days later having finished the series. I rated it 7.5 because this is not my genre. I watched it for CXX and this was my first drama was FL who I know is known for L&P. If it was purely CXX I would give it a much higher rating.

Unlike other Republicans it doesn’t focus on the issues with Shanghai and the Japanese invasion. This drama is more about the internal feud with various generals competing for power.

I enjoyed all the smart tricks and scheming and the brotherhood/loyalty relationships that progressed throughout.

I would recommend those who dislike Republicans but came here from The Starry Love to go ahead and watch this for CXX because he has a lot of complex emotions here.

I could have done without all the violence in the last episode and there were waaaaayyy too many tragic deaths for me.

The rescue team shot was awesome though to see a “reunion”. But sucks a lot about the Tan Army 😖☹️

I love that in the end, the bickering BILs gave ALL THEIR LOVE AND CULTIVATION ENERGY to DILIGENTLY AND LOVINGLY bring back the other ones spouse knowing how deep the other brother’s love for their wife is. Bc obviously they have that deep love themselves for their own wife

I kept my eye on the time stamp thinking HURRY UP AND SHOW
THEM BACK but the seconds ticked away with no appearance of my flower sisters. Though for once I’m glad it’s an open ending so that we don’t know for sure that their redeemed dad never lived long enough to see them return.

I won’t let the last 3 mins define the 40 episodes. I still rate this 10/10. Even though I’m a lover of TMOPB and LBFAD and IS, this one has FAIR AND SQUARE stolen the show.

I absolutely despise Republican dramas but I’m over here from The Starry Love waiting for the last two eps to drop. I’ve become a fan of CXX’s talent. I WANT to try this for him? Any motivational talk/words you have for me to encourage me to start is appreciated!

I agree. And I also humbly admit my own mistake. When I saw this I was like this is some fluffy A-B Budget drama with eye roll pinks and blues.

Agree that not negating Heartless or any version of SDYQ’s love but Lamu was black and white. Love or don’t love.
When Lamu love, Lamu all love for wife. Lamu wait for wife. Lamu love only wife. Lamu listens to wife.
Heartless’s brain was full of schemes and could compartmentalize scheming for funds and devotion for Money

Lamu’s whole existence revolves around Wife. I just rewatched ep21 when he busts the 3 outta the glass ball QK trapped them in and he could only calm down when Wifey was mentioned. At SDYQ’s most primal core is his utter devotion to YeTan. It will be hard for SDYQ to move past his primitive mind when he sees YT like that in ep40 😭😭

All I know is that Lamu is gonna be emoting all over ep 40 and idk if my fragile heart can handle Lamu emotions at the forefront of SDYQ. 😭🔥.

I’m irritated that Husui ends up being the Big Bad. I mean I don’t want anymore of her storyline but leaving her to become this big character at the end kinda sucks. Still 100 support overall drama though!

I’m a huge fan of the YM and XK and kept waiting for the plot to hit a good place. It didn’t. It was very much of a plateau. I liked the dialogue about women in the workplace and XK played his character’s personality really well but everything was very flatlined. Disappointing show for these high traffic leads/actors.

I’m back again to warn others away from wasting their time. I really liked FL in Princess Silver. ML I grew to like his looks as he reminds me a lil of YY. Not a fan of Riley bc I had not seen him before.

The plots are so terrible and REPETITIVE. it’s the same story that could have been told in 10 eps stretched out to how many ?!? The writers wrote ALP. But I liked that one?? How did they screw this so extra bad?

Director though…he’s struck out 3x with me. This show, Unchained Love (who I faithfully got through only for Dylan) and General’s Lady were bad. I’m gonna stay away.

The plots were so unbelievable, they repeated the same “oh you tricked me/I can’t trust you/I have feelings though” plot at least 5 times. Unbelievable storyline and characters you don’t connect with.
