I started watching this after I saw comments that it is similar to The Early Spring and I decided to give it a try. Guys I am giggling at the mains conversations every time. So much tension but not like sexual...just a good kind of tension that I can't explain. I LOVE IT😂😂😂

and btw according to me, it is nothing similar to the early spring. the dynamics are just different.

My regret is that I started watching this before a few more episodes are out

I agree. because realistically speaking, if it was another woman who doesn't have plot armor, she would have most likely ended up with Yu Jing Xiu even if it's out of convenience. That society did not give women the liberty to thrive independently.

There is a clean way and a dirty way to climb up the ranks. Zhao tried to stand out honestly, but the people didn't like that he was a nobody/criminal trying to change his ways and become better.

Zhao and Ting yun's story just shows how people can hate you for just being you. Because why is everybody plotting against them for just trying to live?

I really don't like seeing the main characters of a drama suffer, especially costume dramas (they are more of an escape/entertainment for me than learning a lesson), so i found it hard to watch this drama. But I came across a TikTok post explaining the beauty of this drama, and that pushed me to have an open mind. Safe to say I am watching it and taking in the depth of the story and appreciating the struggle and character development.
