Title Double Helix Spoiler
There is something bugging me. I think the scene where they are naked and Lu Feng is hugging Yi Chen in the preview is the same scene from the bts clip where Yi Chen is calling his brother's name in his sleep. I feel like it would be weird for him to call his brother's name, especially when his brother is alive and well, right after having sex with the man he loves and has finally reunited with after being apart for so long. I hope they make it make sense. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new episodes.

I’ve been in many fandoms, including stories that deal with themes just as dark, if not darker, than this one,…
Me too. I've always loved complex characters.

It's a sad truth that, these days, even AI can be easier to talk to-not because it agrees with everything we say, but because it can make us feel understood without attacking us for our opinions.

It's been a long time since I've seen a series with such complex characters and an actor capable of portraying that complexity on such a deep level. That's why I really appreciate this series: the chemistry, the music, the character complexity, their undying love, and especially Lu Feng's love and obsession with Yi Chen.

What saddens me is that many people don't want to discuss anything beyond Lu Feng's wrongdoing. What's even worse is that they refuse to accept opinions that differ from their own. Instead of sharing their perspectives and analyzing the characters from different angles, they simply take Yi Chen's side and claim that anyone who disagrees has a broken sense of morality in real life.

Rather than choosing to watch the kind of series they actually enjoy, they continue watching one whose main character they clearly dislike, despite knowing exactly what he's like. In the process, they end up ruining the experience for those of us who genuinely love the series.

I find that really disheartening

Exactly. We don't need to take sides but can try to understand both of them.

I agree with both of you. Whenever I'm about to discuss Lu Feng's perspective or express my annoyance with other characters here or on X, people are always quick to defend them, claiming Lu Feng is a criminal and preventing the discussion from going any further.

Even Ayden said that Lu Feng's character is very complex and that we could have explored his layers, acting, and relationships more, but the conversation always comes back to morality. They don't let us talk about anything other than feeling bad for Yi Chen, which is very frustrating.

MDL used to be a place where we could analyze the plot, characters, and other aspects of a story, but now it's almost impossible to have a discussion because of the hatred toward Lu Feng. They clearly knew the warnings and the plot from the beginning. I don't know what they expected.

I just don’t get why some people here are so up in arms about giving others lectures on morality. If you are…
Thank you for saying this!

I didn't quite understand why they included a hidden camera(ep 9 the one in lu feng's room) in the series? because…
Me neither but I guess he installed the cameras all over his house to monitor Yi Chen?

Oh. I suppose you know this is a public comment section which stems from the fact that people are allowed to discuss opinions? You could have said earlier you don't want any reply if you don't want to see a different opinion. It's not like I was being rude. And you could have not responded to me if you didn't want to waste your time. But okay. Now I know you don't like to discuss, I won't reply anymore.

Ikr. It's becoming so annoying at this point that he always chooses his family over Lu Feng

Sure, you can have your opinion, but you said that Lu Feng was the reason Yi Chen didn't choose him, and I don't agree with that. So I was just sharing my interpretation. Have a nice day

I totally agree with you. I’m sorry, but this relationship can’t work. And not just because Lu Feng needs…
Because he knows what kind of person his brother is. His brother will tell him to leave Lu Feng and Yi Chen will do as he says. And the final scene was a proof.

You're right. It's hard to believe he really loves Lu Feng. I've always believed that a relationship should be balanced, or that both people should be willing to compromise for it to work. But it's clear that Yi Chen always puts other people first, not Lu Feng. While Yi Chen is Lu Feng's whole world, Lu Feng is just a part of Yi Chen's past that he wants to forget. So it would be best if they separated.

Lu Feng made mistakes, but he doesn't deserve to be blamed for everything that happened between them. Even in the beginning, when Yi Chen's mother was sick, Yi Chen chose to leave him, although there were other choices he could have made. And after they separated, Yi Chen went to find Lu Feng wearing the necklace with the ring and offered only a superficial apology, which didn't help either. He knew what kind of person Lu Feng was. He kept giving him hope without any real intention of staying with him

Exactly. I'm so sick of this back and forth now. Everyone says Yi Chen loves him. Maybe he loves him, but not enough to stay with him forever. I think, deep down, Yi Chen has always known about Lu Feng's red-flag tendencies and has never been brave enough to embrace that side of him. He will always choose everyone else over Lu Feng. I just wish he hadn't given Lu Feng false hope and made promises earlier.

Sadly, he is always thinking of himself because no one ever thinks of him. Just as Lu Feng said, "You're going to leave with them, right?" Yi Chen did, in fact, decide to leave with his brother. He knew that Yi Chen would never choose him.

I'm actually quite miffed about today's episode. Yi Chen will always choose his family over Lu Feng and Lu Feng is still obsessed with Yi Chen so the best thing is they separate in the end and Lu Feng going to therapy. I hate to say I'm okay with them not ending up together now
