i'm on episode 6 right now. it could use a bigger budget and better editing but it's surprisingly good

So too lazy to search for that comment, but somebody compared this to a makjang... and I have to say they're right. It's…
you're already over halfway. For a drama about palace intrigue and family infighting, it wasn't even on the deep end for frustration. I think it started picking up around ep 28??? or you should at least watch the last two episodes to wrap it up.

Im on episode 1 fl is already has husband that live together ten years or it is only a dreams or something else…
yes and in episode 2 she goes back in time to when she's 7, and then I think it spends two episodes go over events of her childhood and her trying to change it

happy ending?
yes, a happy ending for the leads but i definitely think we needed more fluffiness or how about those steamy kisses ;)

Also wanted to say that even though the synopsis sounded like Vin Zhang's other drama "song of the moon", it's way better. I tried to watch that one twice and stopped at episode 10 both times. Could not get past the FL being so stupid and the misunderstandings. Anyway, this drama is filled with smart people and misunderstandings are not the underpinning of this drama.

Just finished the drama and it was pretty awesome. I thought the part with Pearl & Zhao Ming could have been shorten by two episodes and then we could have had more time for the climax and ending. Wahhh! the producers are so evil. After putting us through the wringer, the epilogue/wrap-up was only 2min!!! I needed at least 5-10 minutes, either of explanations or fluffy time. I'll take either.

Yes, his soul and memories returned to ZM and now he's a fusion of both. Just like MXL remembered her past, ZM…
I agree. After all, another 10,000 years is a long time for him to figure something out. Or something like multiple personalities and his original is no longer wanted since ah Zhu is gone so he let xie xuechen's personality dominate

Thank you! I was shocked to come in here two days ago to see comments that made no sense. I was wondering if I…
pretty sure he did kick it purposely like a warning although not sure if he intended the ball to land on their group. I guess this is fair play since second sister does physically abuse his cousin. I'm not saying the show is toxic although I will see how episode 5 goes. Just finished episode 4 and it was upsetting. Not because of the attempted rape (because s*&# happens) but how they were handling it

Just finished it on Netflix. That was a unique twist at the end that was well executed. I was prepared to not like the show at any moment since drama adaptations are usually inferior to the written novel but not only was it on par with the novel, that ending actually made it better than the novel. I haven't really seen people comment on the novel but for anybody else who read the novel, there are some small and some big changes. I would say the most significant change besides the surprise ending would be: 1) her age which was 18 or 19 in the original novel and her "in novel character" being 15 years old was changed to a working adult in a novel character approx. 18yrs old which made her silly personality appear extra stupid, 2) Ziqi's relationship with his adopted sister - he no longer had a rift with her in the drama because she accepted him instead of spurning his real identity for a short but significant time frame

Just finished episode 14. So far so funny. This short format works for the manhua adaptation unlike the usual where they try to stretch it to a full length 60 episode melodrama. This makes the funny parts funny & light-hearted instead of making it stupid & annoying.

I am so happy to hear you saw it that way. Too many complained LR was still fighting to get to SRQ when I saw…
Right? Just because she didn't toss him away doesn't mean she's not over him. She has some lingering affection which I think most people do when they think of their first love but she's found her true love and it isn't Su Rongqing.

Is this true? 🥲
yes the ML is a simp but there was no cuckolding, FL had already separated (but not divorced) ML when she was with the 2nd ML in their previous life. They both agreed to the separation - she proposed it and he accepted it instead of clarifying the misunderstanding that led to the separation

Romance buildup is not convincing. ML spent 20 years stubbornly refusing to admit his feelings in his past life,…
Did you only watch the first episode because I thought the same until episode 2 or 3.
he was in love with her the whole time and she even knew about it but she didn't trust in his love and pushed him away so he just buried his feelings and let her be happy with another man. Also he didn't witness her death, she's been ill for years and she finally succumb after he finished his visit and he was murder while leaving her mansion

Just finished it and i love the FL's character growth. Last couple of episodes were a little annoying with the villain trying to justify himself but glad to see FL tell him straight that she wasn't falling for it and it's all his selfishness.

I have several questions though:1. How did LZS go from beggar to criminal mastermind?2.How did he come to mistake…
I agree with points 1, 2, 5. Point 3 - I didn't notice Gu Langhua recognized Luo Zishang but it was weird how the dad was sensitive about their daughter in law visiting her hometown. Point 7 - they were playing politics, it's all ambiguous but Luo Zishang did mentioned how Jiang He seemed to be helping him but nothing worked out in the end

I respect everyone's opinion. But I got bored after ep 20, trying to skip forward and complete 40 episodes. But…
the latter half of the drama deals with politics so is therefore more "draggy" but i thought it was actually pretty fast paced with how all the events happened and things were wrapped up. They could have made it another 5 episodes longer and then it would have been truly a drag.

thanks for saving me from watching "new life begins". Agree wholeheartedly with your review of "a dream of splendor". I had a bad feeling from ep one but wanted to give it a fair shake. Just finished ep 6 and I could tell it was heading further downhill. Went on here to see if it improves but apparently not.
