The drama is very beautiful and faithful to the novel. Lately, I've been watching more and more CDramas and less and less Kdramas (and initially, I only watched Kdramas). At first, CDramas may seem very different—and they are—from Kdramas, but over time, you get used to it, and it's not a question of better or worse.

I agree. "Duan Xu seems too young to be a general."...In fact, in the novel, he's a 19-year-old general. So that's exactly how it should be. Lately, he's been demonstrating great versatility (the character of Fang Muyang/Love Story in 1970 is emblematic of this).

The acting in Ever Night was still a little immature—he wasn't yet 18 at the time—but yes, in many ways Duan Xu reminds me of Ning Que...

The drama is currently as good as the novel it's based on. I wouldn't believe the rating; in these cases, it's better to judge for yourself...
