Title Bad Buddy
Honestly, they should step up their game at this point. It looks like pure fan service to me without much story. I loved Ep 1 do 5 the most. Every episode was done to move forward the plot, it had a concept and a beautiful scene. One of my favorites is still the end scene in Ep 3 where they were sitting in the hallway, Pran had his guitar. Beautiful. And then the sad scene where Pran was crying in the bed. A masterpiece. And yes, of course I will mention the rooftop scene in Ep 5 which brought the series to another level. What did we get since then, though? It started with the Who-falls-in-love-battle in Ep 6, which made no sense. After the confession and kiss in Ep 5 it was obvious they both loved each other. It was the first time I thought the storytelling is getting weaker, but I accepted it as an excuse to show us those two flirting. Ep 7 brought the fun and the cuteness we all hoped for and loved! Though, again, I thought it's a bit too much, ESPECIALLY the ads! Those damn ads! They put everything in this episode: the printer, the green tea, the nivea make-up remover. It was silly to say at least. Almost a bit cringy. But well, a filler episode is allowed, isn't it? And the end, Pat playing xylopone, was once again one of those memorable scenes. Then Ep 8 came. They are finally boyfriends, and we love it! But the end scene felt repetitive with Pat playcing xylophone again. Still them getting exposed at the end got us all excited for the next episode. Now we got Ep 9, and it AGAIN feels like a filler. While I love their interaction and relationship, and how it gets more intimate, especially now they seem happy because they are in the open, it really feels like pure fanservice and annoying advertisment. No, I didn't love the inhaler scene. No, I didn't love the green tea scene. At this point they are selling out themselves. Apparantly P'Aof describes this as "commercial art", and gives them some room for improvisation, but come on! I have never seen a BL with so much ads! And they put 2, 3 or even 4 ads in a damn episode! And now the most important question: Where is the story going? At this point I really hope we are in for some emotional episodes, so the series can make up for all the sillyness we got since Ep 5. This is still an entertaining, interesting and enjoyable series, but again, they should step up their game. I'm really afraid the whole parents-conflict will be silly too. It's also strange that the parents hate each other for so long, and Pat and Pran never knew why, and never cared to find out about it either until now. I have a feeling the story will go downhill, and we will get some eye-rolling moments. But they will try to make up for it by showing us Ohm and Nanon being lovey-dovey. I never thought I would say that: But at this point I want MORE story and less lovey-dovey scenes. To sum it up: I love the drama, I love the emotions, I love the humor (!!), but I don't love the sillyness.
