old Korean movies are very explicit and violent, what are you talking about? you can count sexual scenes in Kdramas…
I’m not saying older Korean movies or thrillers were never dark or violent. Korea has always had great thrillers and mature films. My point is about many newer mainstream K-dramas. In the past, even darker stories focused more on storytelling, emotions, and character development. Now, some dramas feel like they add oversexualized scenes or western-style relationship drama mainly to go viral internationally rather than because the story needs it. Of course, not all dramas are like this, but I feel some of the original charm of K-dramas is being lost in a few recent productions.
I think K-dramas really shine when they stick to creative storytelling, lots of comedy, and (slight) romance, rather than trying too hard to mimic Western entertainment trends. Lately, it feels like a lot of new shows are leaning heavily into over-sexualized content and spreading sexual propaganda, pushing plots that seem purely designed to hit it big with audiences in Europe and the West. Because of this, some dramas are starting to lose the originality, emotional depth, and unique charm that made them stand out globally in the first place. For me, the older formula of fresh storylines, genuine character growth, and balanced humor just felt a lot more authentic and memorable.
I really enjoyed this drama; it completely reminded me why I started watching K-dramas way back in the day. The characters are so much fun to watch, the plot is interesting, and it’s packed with great comedy, good romance, and a happy ending. Honestly, it’s everything you could possibly ask for in a drama.
it's bc if they say she is already like 20-25y, it's weird that she not married. If we say that the ML its like…
The drama would’ve been way more interesting if the FL were unmarried in her mid-twenties and the ML fell for her despite all the pressure and expectations around them.
The show starts with her coming-of-age ceremony, so she’s only 16 or 17, right? I don't get why they feel the NEED to write about 'sassy' young girls romancing grown ass men, especially when the actors are actually close in age. It's not like we have to have her that young to watch her grow wiser and become the person they want her to be!
great lead actors (acting and looks), great cinematography and great kisses. i wish they spent a little time on the script and the ending though. I hope to see the leads in a main drama in the future.
thanks for all these recommendations. When it comes to Thai dramas, i feel like 95% of drama production goes to BL or GL storylines. This is all what i see with subs available across online websites!
it dragged longer than it needed to be. Plus, it's a crime having to watch a 16+ episode drama with only a shadow of a kiss in the last episode! And, why does everyone's name has "meng, ning, ming..." in it???
Even though the first 12 episodes were okay and a bit interesting, you'll have to exercise the right to fast-forwarding the rest of the episodes, and still you'll get the gist of what's going on.
I dropped this the second I looked up the lead actress's age. How do these writers and directors expect the audience to enjoy a romance between an experienced 30-year-old man and an 18-year-old child?
Even if they exclude the romance because of her age, it's unfair to viewers who want romantic scenes and good chemistry. It is a huge waste of potential for the drama. Seriously, they couldn't find an older, more experienced actress for the role?
