You know the funny thing is...I love Love Like the Galaxy, but I always forget the 2ML, no offense to the actor, I just somehow forget about him as he never really grew a backbone imo. TBH if I had to take a guess, most likely the CCP censorship. As so many shows adapted from novels edit the harsher punishment for some characters or just completely redeem them somehow...it's not just one writer, so whomever is in charge of what gets past Go is my best guess.

Chen is Song Mo's man now. He was the one who pulled him out of gambling and gave him an outlet to seek revenge for the death of his adoptive father. He's good still, though those dice on the calendar are now making me more nervous after remembering he had a gambling addiction/vice.

Her real death will come from climbing a mountain all day every day for 999 days stopping every three steps to bow and on the ninth step kotowing. Praying so her daughter's soul doesn't rot in hell.

Murder is still a crime(even though it seems like no one's really getting punished for their murderous tendencies) ...to commit patricide and that father be a Duke and Official in the court....um...Song Mo would go bye bye or be forced to become a rebel like in his previous life. She doesn't want him to take that path again. She believes that killing his father and brother is what poisons him/kills him. She doesn't realize that the poison was already introduced into his system the night before he was originally supposed to kill his family members. Also as his wife, she could be executed with him or stripped of her wealth and sent back to her "home town" or any other number of things. But mainly she just doesn't want him to be burdened with killing his own father and hurting himself in the process.

Duke of Ding is the maternal uncle(who was more his father), older brother of Song Mo's mother. Raised Song Mo in the military after his father kicked him out of the house for the umpteenth time. The Duke of Ding is the head of the Ding Army, family name is Jiang.
Song Mo could take over either of those Duke titles. But he is the heir of the Duke of Ying title...his uncle until recently didn't have any sons, so the title would have gone to Song Mo(at his uncle's request).
