yeah that's what I meant by them being closer in age or the same age. she was 17 or 18 when the fire happened he was around 23 when his daughter was born. so they've aged the same amount of years give or take.

Their son is more powerful than the other family members. If he knows what a person or object looks like he can summon it to him through time and space. So FL asks him to find someone for her. She first says that she lost it 5 years ago, then corrects herself and says 18. This is to make sure that ML is able to save FL's teenage self first.

So the moment that she starts to fall from the school building their son has already summoned him to the "present", which is five years in the future of ML's original starting point, saving him from both fires. It was seconds for him but 5 years for everyone else. Now ML and FL are much closer in age to one another...if not the same age.

The ML's body was never recovered from any of the fires because his son always pulled him to the future. Just like the FL always survived the fire because the ML saved her. Both father and son's powers work in a linear manor. Aka they aren't starting new timelines or really changing the past...they have already done the thing and that is how it always was.

We truly aren't. We just know more things. have more money and realize that shame/embarrassment in something that brings you joy is wasted energy.

Their son pulls things from the past, like his ball. The ball went missing and he was upset and cried....but the ball went missing because future him summoned it from his present. Aka he'll never know if it was because he summoned the item that it went missing or if the item was simply lost.

It would be interesting to revisit the actors/character in a few years. I always wonder why netflix doesn't do time jumps with their shows that come out years apart.

It's a fated person situation. There weren't a lot of records from the family history that had this level of connection. It had happened before, but it wasn't an every person gets to meet their special someone type of deal.

I think if he had shown back up at his starting point it would have been on top of the fallen wall. but he would have found himself in yet ANOTHER fire soooo... his son summing him from 18 years ago was the best outcome for everyone.

Why on god's green Earth are they making the ML a swimmer also? The whole charm of the OG show was that each person was so different and good at their own thing. The SML is supposed to be an almost Olympic level swimmer in high school, and the ML ties him in a race...I'm sorry, what?
And the FL is still giving annoyed little sister not "I'm so in love with you, it's obvious to everyone" vibes.

I think what a lot of people see as her acting like a teenager isn't taking into account that she had a medical/emotional trauma at 18. This type of thing tends to stunt a person a bit. (personal experience, I'm also the same age as the character so I bit of insight)

She wouldn't have the same adult experiences that her peers were able to have simply by how inaccessible Korea is. She wouldn't be able to get into most social places like bars or clubs. She wouldn't have been able to start college with her peers either after having to stay in the hospital for almost a year. So she would have been roughly 2 years behind all of her classmates. Being in a wheelchair made it so most people disregarded her completely. Interactions with guys...not going to happen.(seriously wanting a show about people with mobile disabilities being able to find love in SK, not just someone with a bionic arm)
This was the main reason her immaturity never bothered me. Since Sun Jae saved her from herself in 2009 she decided to have a positive outlook on things. Also, if you all of a sudden had two working legs again after 15 years...hell yeah I'm going full ham. Being young again...yup, sup bitches I'm back. She had a good balance of innocents and maturity imo.

I was born in 1990 and started consuming Korean media around 2009....to say this was a love letter to my generation is an understatement. It's why I wrote an unhinged timeline breakdown with context to a lot of things that people would miss if they are younger or newer to Korean media/culture.

But if the wanted to do a second part or a season 2...a lot of people would want that kid dead...so potential. I just don't think they executed season 1 well enough to get a season 2 though.

3. Honestly it grossed me out. The bigger issue I had was with so many people casually passing around an underage hidden camera video...not once was it brought up that they were minors when referring to the video...they would have been about 16. Only like 2 characters were like "why the hell would you use that?!" They at the very least addressed the grooming of the male student by the teacher...not as much as they should have, but small victories. They could have shown him being lonely and her preying on him, but they shot it in a way that almost made it feel like HE was the instigator. Extremely weird take in the year 2024. With the actors being so close in age it wasn't visually showing how freaking creepy that character age difference is. Mind you I'll watch a Japanese black comedy about a student teacher "relationship" and not bat an eye.

What was with the Michael Bay music video style directing/cinematography? I just feel like the best way to describe this show is, flash over substance. To describe the majority of the characters, in the words of Lady Jenevia when she described Colins Bridgerton, 'no thoughts head empty'.

the fact I made this comment 13 days ago & was able to easily find it my scrolling just a bit should tell you everything. though the show is enjoyable it is not having the same response as other shows out there or that have also ended recently.

the fact there are at least 10 shows with the same exact plot but done better is the problem I'm having. They could have made it more interesting or from a different angle. The problem with reusing old plot lines from shows is that times change. Having the majority of the characters being "poor little rich kids" isn't going to cut it in a 7 episode arch. The other shows that have come out recently that did well had an adult storyline to focus on as well. so for me these were just a bunch of powerless teens throwing tantrums because they don't get enough attention from their parents or the person they like. The rich kids barely have personalities or interests that an audience can see themselves in.
Morally grey characters are amazing and some of the best characters in history. The only character growth for the majority of the characters happens within the last 40mins of episode 7....
From an editing and writing standpoint, that's not good. They didn't pace things out well & kind of shoved everything at the very end. They didn't show but told us a lot of information when it came to people's feelings. & with everything being release at once it was made even more obvious that there was no one to really connect to other than maybe the ML. & I honestly just think it's because the actor is stronger in his craft than some of the others right now & not because his character is written any better.
I hope there is a season two, just so the actors can grow & we might actually get to know the characters. Cause other than the briefiest of moments at the very end were any of them(the characters) redeemable. It felt unearned imo. again, pacing/editing issues.

Either the writing is bad or Jung Jae-I and Kim Ri-An's chemistry is. Or maybe it's a combination of both things. Not once in the present nor in the past did I believe that they like each other, and they are supposed to be in love? It's giving Romeo and Juliette after you grow up and realize a 13 year old killed herself over a boy who just really wanted to get into her pants days after being in someone else's.

The toxic "love" that she has for a literal monster in the making is mind blowing. I'm gonna say it and I apologize to my younger self....but fucking teenagers and their lack of a prefrontal cortex!
She can see her dad is evil, but can't seem to see that her boyfriend is EXACTLY like him? He doesn't apologize, he sends people to do his bidding left and right. He even threatens people the same way her father does....honey, I hate to break it to you, but if you stay with this boy you will end up exactly like your mother when you do something that pisses him off. He isolates her from anyone that could be a true friend to her. He doesn't let her have her space...ever and is never understanding or empathetic towards others, not even her. You might think you want the villain's love. The type that will let the whole world burn if it means that you're "safe", but you have nowhere to live if there is nothing left...a lonely world made of ash and blood. If he owned it more I might hate him less, but he's just a coward who gets other people to do his bidding. Throw him in the real world and he has nothing.

Morally grey characters are amazing. Everyone has flaws....but as of halfway through episode 6 the ONLY thing that he has done even remotely good was getting the man her father whored her out to arrested. Maybe bonus points for going to her quickly after receiving the video of them together.

Which...tangent...I know I'm from the States and that my view on the law is different, but I'm pretty sure that producing and disseminating CP is against the law. They are juniors in high school...aka 16-17 years old...that means that video was taken when they were 15-16 years old.(international age)
And revenge porn is not the win you think it is, son of principal. Again disseminating CP is, in most countries, a criminal offense. You do not have rich parents to cover up your crimes...especially in Korea where they can sue for defamation, even if what the person is saying is FACT. AKA if he uses CP/Revenge porn to take down two large companies it wouldn't work...they would just sue the shit out of him if they receive any damages. If you were to use the bullying and coverups you have a fighting chance...but the main thing you're using as your "ace" is just not it. Also Yun Ha Re, nice hit. Glad she actually has some morals. Looking forward to the only ending spoiler I know about Jae-I lil bro.

honestly will just watch this to learn more about Thailand's history/past. if they adapt based on simi historical figures/time. (sadly the only "Thai" history i have a reference for is 'The King and I'...and that's not saying very much at all as it was well, Hollywood's version, aka more than likely wrong &/or offensive) also hope that they incorporate the modern story that the Korean version never finished either with a second 2 like the OG or just tighten up the past story.
