It's the producer, for some reason he got it into his head that he needs to dub everyone with anime's voice actors
I will always find it weird when a trained actor, who can speak period accurate dialog, gets dubbed by another actor. It's one thing if the actor on screen has issues with pronunciation or accent...but I'm pretty sure they dubbed EVERYONE...😯👀
Do you guys actually like this drama?I am starting this and on episode 1. I find it kind of jerky.I've read the…
It's low stakes enough(not overly tragic, looking at you Love in Pavilion) that I feel "safe" watching it. It's not taking too much brain power, and at the moment there isn't much currently airing that I'm actively watching. It has lots of baby arcs that sow into the overall mystery arc. Honestly....if I didn't like the actors(leads and some of the supporting) I wouldn't watch it.
The editing right now is the biggest issue, followed by script/directing. There is a bit of a disconnect and lack of...something...with regards to the connections between characters that are meant to care about/love each other. It's giving teen period drama....So think of every recent one of Zhang Wan Yi drama's plots/tropes blended together for a younger audience...aka Lost You Forever, Are You the One, The Rise of Ning & Si Jin put in a blender and watered down heavily.
So if you aren't watching anything else and you like at least one of the main or secondary leads it might be worth your time. I don't think I'll remember this one in a month though....unless they pull something out of nowhere, it's very "meh" 🤷🏻♀️
Whomever is editing this show needs to take a few more classes on romance in film language and how to properly time cuts between shots. I sort of noticed before but watching episode 13 it became glaringly obvious that the editing has an issue. Nothing is ever given time to breathe. It's so frustrating.
nothing is wrong with them, but when 90% of the airing prime time shows had depressing endings the people spoke up & were like, you can change it up a bit. Also the live airing shows were notorious for changing the ending.
I always check the photo section of a show page(i don't think the app has this feature so use your browser) & find when the uploaded the first images & that is normally close to the start of the productions filming.
I really hope that one day someone continues their story. I would love it if it were the same actors and team behind this production, but I just wish would could have stayed with them a bit longer. Maybe if it ever continues it will be her in his world. And now with her new life skills her character would be even better.
Bittersweet ending, but still a solid 9 overall production. Highly recommend. Every guest star brought their A game. Postproduction did the damn thing with all the special FX and the practical stunt work. I'm glad even though it was a bit late that the team got to promote it as well. So grateful their aired this one and that her name has been pretty much cleared as she is a great actress.
I love seeing actors from The Double here, especially the villain from The Double as a villain here, I already…
I think they must share a producer or something. They don't really list the executive producers on here so I can't be 100%, as I can't read Chinese, but normally when casting overlaps to this degree it's because of a connection bts. So either with a casting director, producer, or production studio.
Hmm.. Can someone explain to me why K-Drama have sometime a warning at the beginning that it's a work of fiction…
It's for legal reasons so no one can sue for defamation. If a storyline is based off of the writers real life in any way or if they used names of people they know for character names etc. With the historical shows, the families are still alive today & will(have been know to) sue writers for their artistic license with historic events.
This snake demon arc is the only arc that is separate from the main plot? Its meant to be a filler arc? It has…
It took a while for the nine lives to come back into play even though we saw him early on. Right now, it's a way to bring her fiancé into the fold. I think it does connect in a few ways just not AS directly as the previous demons. It's also to hammer home that Xuan Ye uses his brain before offing a demon....looking at you Sima Ling Ying, looking at YOU.
I think there are lessons to be learned from them, but because it's a slower build and they have less direct interaction it's a bit more boring than the other stories. There have been lots of stories of greed and power....and the greed for power. The only demon that we've met IMO prior to this storyline that didn't deserve their end was my man Nine Lives. He was a real one and he was a good boy. Everyone else somehow became corrupted and needed to be either put down or freed from their "master".
I cant tell yet if his brother(im assuming that's who the other panther is) wants to hurt Xuan Ye or if he is sincerely looking for him to come back. I know that he stabbed him with a spear, but I think he was aiming at the intruder to their land aka BanXia. Mainly his violence matches the other character's when they come across a demon. & he honestly only attacked when threatened so im still confused about if he's hunting to find & bring back into the fold or hunting to kill so his place in the royal family is set.
So, four "stories" or arcs so far. Owl demon, Mirror/Pear demon, Nine-lives/Puppet demon, Bug/Ink/Painting(?) demon(don't know what were calling the latest 2 demons). Not sure if were are going to jump right into Panther Prices arc just yet or if will have one more before the home stretch.
It sounds like I'm in the minority here, but I actually prefer that this show focuses on its fantasy/adventure…
And the thing is, it's not even too light on romance really. It's always there in the background but never overtakes the main focus of an episode. It's like the score of a movie, always present increasing in volume when needed.
What's wrong with Ban Xia's parents? I can't stand them! 😡 Why can't they let her choose who she wants to marry?…
Lets say, hypothetically, that your daughter was part demon, and one day she comes to you saying she wants to marry a demon hunter? Would you just let her ride off into the sunset with someone who might end up killing her once he finds out who her mother is? I think not. My assumption is that BanXia's mother is a demon of some kind. If her mother isn't a demon, than they probably don't want their daughter to be in constant danger being the wife of a man who hunts demons....who had to kill his whole family because they were poisoned by demons....we they know the price for getting entangled with demons.
I'm just saying her parents are scared for her one way or another.
I don't know what's going on with the iQiYi website. I can easily watch the previews but for some reason the episodes wont play anymore. I think it must have something to do with my VIP protections or something. I can watch the episodes on my Roku app but not on my laptop....And for some reason my history only gets logged if I'm using the website....yall make it make sense.
