At first because she doesn't feel the connection and love that they had as children. She's been desperately searching for him for 12 years. He was the only one in that house other than her servants who loved her and cared for her. When Hongrang reappears he is cold, aloof, and suspicious. So unlike her little brother that she refuses to except that her brother would change that much or forget her. She was raised in an abusive household, when someone experiences that for years they become attune more with their gut instinct, because the gut is more your brain subconsciously picking up all the details around you and coming to a conclusion based on past experience. It's a survival instinct.
Song Zu Er, girl, am I glad that your rep was cleared. I'm only on episode one and the scene at 26 minutes in where she just silently communicates with her family....chef's kiss. Acting isn't just saying words...it's the performance while others speak, sometimes, that is the hardest and most nuanced. May she never have a hiccup in her taxes again...amen.🙌🏻
Oh no....this is the kid that gave *nothing* in Hierarchy to the point I was debating how he got hired. I just....please take some more acting classes kid...please.
The show ended less than a week ago...and this comment section is dead as a doornail. (I came back because of a notification I hadn't read) It was pretty dead while it was airing, but like, this place is a ghost town to the point I scrolled for on second and found my comment from 4 days ago. Honestly I think that should tell you everything you need to know if you are debating watching this show.
omg. why the rating so low.. is it really that bad guys ?
The editing is all over the place. There was no real focus on the romance and no real focus on the revenge investigation....it was overall extremely forgetful with the exception of how much I loathed the 2ML always creeping around and just not letting the main leads breathe as characters. It felt like watching paper dolls. Pretty paper dolls, but there was no actually depth to the characters or story. I feel bad that the next time I see the 2ML's actor I'm going to have to fight the ick that this character gave me.
I say it's worth it if you enjoy the first episode. As they only focus on the main story. There is no filler to waste the viewer's time. Everything shown on screen plays a part in the main story, and is actually important to connect to other things later on. You don't get backstories on every single side character like you do in some of the 16 episode period dramas. The storytelling, action and editing work really well together imo. So watch that first episode, if you aren't vibing, it's just not for you and you didn't really waste too much time.
I'm not a fan of this fake sibling plot, but I'm not watching it and seeing incest. I don't feel that way.
FL believes in her gut that ML is NOT her brother. ML knows he is not her brother. There is only 1 to 2 episodes that she is "convinced enough" into believing that he is her brother. He takes that opportunity to be....how do I put this...."close"...to her. It comes off as seductive a bit on his part so that might be uncomf for some but at that point the audience knows they aren't related and never grew up together. But they have all of these various things in common. He's just never experienced love or a connection like this so he comes on a bit strong in a teasing way that confuses her and makes her nervous. He doesn't really understand why he can't harm her. He does later, but it's a good story imo. But like cookiemoon said the 2ML is toxic and inappropriate. but I will disagree that although romance is not the main plot or even the main driving force of the main story, romance does play a very large role. It's very Shakespearean imo. I love a bit of angst and drama in my revenge stories.
the fact this show made that same Korean village used in every period kdrama look different & cinematic...already a 8 minimum. I gave it an overall 9.5 because of other production aspects as well as OST, Acting, stunt work. It's not going to be for everyone, but I'm glad it was made. 11 episodes makes it so there is no filler side plots happening. Every scene shown comes back into play later on. I wish more Korean productions filmed only the right amount of episodes needed to tell the story they want to.
OK, another loophole or plot hole whatever you wanna call it but how does TL also get stabbed in the end. At first…
The editors are the downfall of this entire production. I would be surprised if the cast even recognizes the final product as what they shot over a year ago.
the more i discovered a lot of scenes that in original script got edited OUT the more frustrating i am!WE SHOULD…
I clocked the bad editing early on without any context that scenes were shot. I just knew that post production was a right mess. And that someone messed up big time when it came to how the story was patched together.
I guess they will not shoot a time, Lusi is "sick" but accepting performences and variety shows. That's sad, in…
If she starts another drama it will most likely be after the time table set by herself and her medical team. She is doing much better but certain triggers or situations could trigger a relapse that will send her to the hospital. So going anywhere near a production that she was a part of when she DID end up hospitalized, unable to speak or walk....yeah don't see THAT happening anytime soon.
Imma just wait till tomorrow after work to finish the final 6 episodes I have left. I'm too tired and long blinks are unhelpful when trying to read subtitles.
So I'm glad that I stopped after 4 episodes because I just couldn't handle what I could already tell was coming by the end of episode 4. Maybe in the future I'll finish this one, but I can't do tragic stories for almost every last character in the entire show right now. Shows like this are great, but right now my mental health is in the basement so everyone but like 2 characters dying is just too much for me.
She called him A'Chang ge ge once she had her memory back. It's a sweet term of endearment with romantic undertones.
Okay that was literally the scene that prompted me to right the comment in the first place because I was like....what the what have I been mishearing her this entire time?
MingShu isn't calling him Buddy right? Am I hearing her say A'Chang like a nickname, or is she saying A'Shung? Anyone who knows Chinese(Mandarin) that can help me out with what she is actually calling the ML. The translations on Wetv are so....modern sounding. I don't know if they are direct translations or just interpretations of the words used. Doesn't help that because it's not the actress' real voice I can't be 100% clear by reading her lips and hearing the sound. Took me years to get a good enough ear for Korean, and with the tone differences in Mandarin....yall I'm in struggle bus city.
Whose body is that 😂😂😂😂 yall idk if I can do this one....I can't with the fake shoulders yall. i know what Jun's body actually looks like so im losing it everytime he's on screen cause it's too funny
