I agree, though I liked the fact that they all died because it was meant to be a suicidal mission. It made it real somehow. They died for each other, love and country..
who needs a fluffy ending when you have great acting overall, great story line, could have been a little less 🙄 in parts but it surely had everything else..

Those are the parents I had in mind, I couldn’t reconcile the fact that they are dead so where did the kids come from?

I would like to think that they escaped, injured, and live a semi reclusive existence just as they wanted.

I felt that it was too creepy 😀 that the son has YSS’ persona.

I am not a big fan of open ended dramas but I guess it gets us chatting for a while longer🤣

So who are Ning shishan and his sister’s parents please? Confused since they are dead and all..

Who gives about the rating…I am loving it given my limited modern cdramas experience….but ZRY…what an actor👏👏👏👏

I don’t normally watch modern cdramas but I try to watch everything that ZRY is in, he is one of if not my fav young actors right now, but I really didn’t enjoy Ordinary Greatness…the FL drives me……though she was good in her recent outing, SoKP..

I concur with you all about him and hope as @Peach said that he doesn’t disappear to the bigger screen.

I felt SEL down fall was the story itself, the total lack of chemistry between the leads and the production of the drama…it was just…..😩🤔
Xu Kai was good in it. However, I am finding this show is much better and I think suits him better. Everything about this is good so far. I was shocked when I saw the rating this morning…I was expecting at least 8/8.5..🤞

I loved this story…yes there are gaps but the ML is brilliant! He has always been good in everything that I have seen him in, whilst the Fl was good, her appearance and carriage is totally wrong for the role….I think it deserves more credit than the current 7.7! 8.5 at the very least👏

After some thoughts, I think he has a twisted view of women and relationships based on his family history. I want to think that he over heard the ladies talking but I think that he agreed to the marriage so that he could use the family connection to build his own empire.
