The interesting fact that Miao Feng and Miao Shui given the same surname by the villian were actually real siblings…
I love the aspect of ‘mirrors’ so to speak throughout the show. Both Shan Mi (Miao Shui) and Zi Ye were orphans, but taken in by different people. Both of their brothers were turned into killers, both sisters were polar opposites but in the end their hearts were the same: they’d die for their baby brother💔
Thanks for that interesting info about the Chinese translation although I don’t quite understand how 7 nights…
Ah sorry! It’s because the main events that change the entire trajectory happen over seven snowy nights. I think this is where the drama wasn’t quite clear as the novel. Also the play on words seven like Zhan Bai’s name in the sect and Ye like in her name Zi Ye “Qīyè Xue”
Gearing up for the finale! This is such an introspective show—I feel the English title misled people hence their negative reactions. The literal translation from the Chinese Seven Nights of Snow makes more sense as it isn’t technically a passionate romance. It’s a story about letting go, freeing oneself from obsession and discovering one’s true heart in the process.
Naaah I don't care y'all this is actually SO good and i love the role reversal. FL's whole demeanour is mostly…
Yes!!! She remains her own person even after meeting and becoming fond of Zhanbai. I love this drama because it is so realistic. There are many loves on this world, but. Never the same love twice. Sometimes we realize only later what emotions we are actually feeling, and often we can’t act on them because life isn’t simple.
Tong is from Mo village controlled by some rods in his head by their leader and connected to Chief Xue. Blue haired…
Maybe it’s because he’s from the royal family and she’s from the royal family’s physicians? I’m just guessing there’s some childhood connection because there always seems to be in Cdrama. Anyway I’m strangely obsessed with beauty blue haired Miao Feng 😅
Miao Feng’s technique can dispel ultimate coldness…maybe he is doing it for the FL? Just feel like there’s some connection since her family was evidently killed and incredibly wealthy.
Gosh I’m loving this so far! Zeng Shun Xi kicking butt and spitting blood makes for a nuce Wuxia with angsty tortured people and a hot demon lord. Nothing more to ask for!
Was in a bit of a Cdrama slump whilst waiting for my anticipated ones to air and so watched this. Oh my goodness it was so poetical and beautiful! I cried every episode but I adored the character development and what the reasoning (albeit often flawed) behind their choices was. As a mum, I personally was quite irritated with Mizuki, but also had to realize we all make different choices in life. Natsu is probably the biggest green flag ML I’ve ever seen and I really felt for him. It’s a 9.5/10 for me as I just didn’t like a few details, but I think I’m being drawn more and more into the Japanese drama world!
My Brontë heart is so happy to have such beautiful, morally grey men. This is so much better for me than The Double was, as I had been hoping for more dark and complex characters. This is filling all of the boxes.
Calling Umi spoiled is a stretch. Let the child grieve. Like the grandparents She was just given the space to…
Nah I mean she’s absolutely spoiled but that’s okay. I lost my father at 5–much more tragically and traumatically. I never ran away from home. Her mother indulged her because she chose to make Umi her entire life. This sounds great but in fact is terrible parenting. My two sons are their own persons and my fulfillment isn’t just in being their mom. No child should have to hold that burden. Umi was forced to act in many ways like an adult, but also her every wish was catered too. Poor baby is struggling due to her mother’s choices. Of course this is my opinion as a parent and someone who lost their father young and struggled a lot.
