She's supposed to be a Vulcan ice cold character. I'll give her a pass.

Because this poster is (probably unconsciously) using rhetoric in an attempt to qualify their own dislike of the character (or actor) - rather than to give a neutral viewpoint about that which they do not like.

Well, that SFL is ambitious and smart, I give her that. Papa likely never spanked her in her life, so she grew…
Lazy? I can see why you might think that if you have not looked under the surface. But having low standards of cleanliness? Where did you get that from? Or do you not know what a slob is? You clearly do not like the ML because, perhaps, you perceive him to be a coward - but what then of the 2ML? Are you overlooking his self-stated cowardice?

This episode was INTENSE. I loved it.First of all, the leads are damn cute. I love them so much. And I kinda love…
You seem to be the only person here who not only has not criticised the actress herself but also likes the character. (I don't understand why they dislike her so - she is neither a particularly good actress nor a particularly bad one.) I agree with what you say about her possible desire for power - but even if she does not consciously desire it, we have seen that she is ruthless and does not care who she kills to get what she wants - not someone that I would root for. I wonder how the ex-crown prince will react to her if he discovers that she shot the ML. (From what we see in the beginning they have a good relationship which they keep hidden.)

It doesn't sound foolish at all - it is a valid psychological response personal to you. (Not that I agree, or disagree, with you in your assessment of the two actresses in question.)

these second leads....smh!i was still side-eyeing him for letting go of his beloved so quickly after only staring…
That's not fair on the 2nd ML though, is it? I was hoping that he would not (as in the usual trope) be the second prince vying for his brother's death. (Are they related?) I am prepared (at this point) to give him a chance as he genuinely seems to like the ML.

By the way, that's a single shot, muzzle loading, flintlock musket not a colt pistol or something. 2nd FL needs…
I'm glad that somebody else noticed that. I don't know if it had a double-barrel (I didn't pay much attention) but if it wasn't, there were 'superimposed-load' pistols to be had from Europe which could have allowed her to shoot twice. Reload time for an expert didn't take too many seconds, though. I shall have to rewatch that bit.

TMAI! How does one mess up playing a cold, stiff character?! Her dialogue delivery leaves SO MUCH to be desired.
Why? Does expression, body language, and tone of voice not come across to foreigners who do not understand Korean? That's like saying that deaf people would not be able to 'notice' too. This is not an indication of poor acting. Even the use of stilted speech (one aspect of bad acting) is recognisable in a language that one is used to hearing even if one does not understand its meaning - even without the use of subtitles.

The sfl's character is very strong and different and the makers thought of casting an actress who was trolled…
Yes, her character is strong and, yes her character is layered. Here your comments are clear and to the point. So how did these comments segue (downwardly) into the "They should have 'went for...' non sequitur? And 'decent' how? Also, does being 'trolled for something' make that 'something' so? It could be argued that you are trying to say that she is not a decent actor because the character is strong but the actor itself isn't. But that argument itself would likely not bear scrutiny. Btw. It also sounds as if you are saying that trolls provide an acceptable and necessary function; that if a troll said it, it must be so.

i thought i was the only one thinking about it… she’s really ruining that part of the story… i guess she…
Ruining which part of the story? Are you saying that this drama is based on a novel or an older version of the drama and that the director was not directing her properly? If this is not based on a novel, how can she be ruining "THAT" part? You make it sound as if you were familiar with the story beforehand and that she is actually ruining it compared to an implied earlier version. If you just mean either that you a) don't like her acting or b) you don't like her character, then say so, so that we can understand you.

What ending, where? The screen just froze whilst she was talking to the ML. That ending? "She just disappears?"…
Thanks. The thing is, I get them confused or, if I don't watch one for a few weeks whilst I am catching up on others, I have to watch some eps again on ff to refresh my memory. Why do I do this? Because before I paid for Viki, I used to watch them ALL on Dailymotion or Bilibili and if I didn't keep up, the episodes would be withdrawn or go missing. When myasiantv was available it was far easier.

Thanks for replying. I don't think that I'll try to watch it - considering that I am juggling at least nine full length costume dramas at the moment.

Yes. I look there to see what is very upcoming or what has already started so that I can look for it.

What about Chinese Drama Wiki 2025? I look there to see what is upcoming (but I never check the dates given on the site with the actual date of airing to see if they were right.

Yes. She cures small pox - but the director doesn't think to show us how she did it!
I posted a comment earlier where I said, jokingly, "Did she sneak in a cow?" If you don't know, historically, in Europe and Britain, milk maids never got smallpox. It was discovered later that a pox that affected cattle (called cowpox at that time because they didn't know any better) was a cure for smallpox (the pus was used as an early vaccine) . The Sageuk, Rookie Historian, dealt with this in depth. Btw. You are more likely, apparently, to get it (whatever it is called now) from rats or domestic cats, nowadays.

I don't mean that I would like to know from a scientific point of view (in case you read my earlier, flippant remark about a cow) but that I would like to have seen her display her knowledge in front of those in the drama who believe that women are useless. (I should have written it differently to reflect that.)
