You can watch and download it free here https://dramika.com/drama/the-vindication-of-shadows-2026/
Who is 'dramika'? Is this a you tube channel or something like Dailymotion (legal sites where people illegally upload dramas) or like Kisskh or myasian.tv (illegal and dangerous if one clicks on links)? Thank you.

Please do not ask for spoilers or at least for awnsers marked as spoiler. Some of us are not watching the leaked…
So we are not allowed to spoiler then? Okay, so hundreds of us are not only stupid but are breaking the rules, are we? So, if somebody does not understand the ending of a drama, I am breaking the rules by explaining it to someone, am I? That person must go for ever not understanding the ending. Is that what you are saying? Even discussing characters is spoiling. So MDL gives us the means to tag something as a spoiler, but says that we must not 'spoil'. Makes a lot of sense! What is the point then? You are telling me that I am stupid yet you yourself asked one person to tag their comments as a spoiler. REALLY!?

Yes. I found your earlier request after I had written my comment. There is nothing wrong with spoiling whether to discuss or to ask questions. MDL provides the means; therefore it is acceptable by default. But, we need to ask more people to use the tag even though many are churlish enough to object. As for the stupid ones who don't seem to know what the word means or entails... Well, there is no cure for that. But we cannot ask people not to ask questions in a spoiler when they go to the trouble to comply with the rules so that others can watch/continue to watch at a different pace. I ask questions about dramas all the time but always mark them as spoilers.

Really? Isn't the whole point of marking comments or questions about the drama as spoilers meant to ensure that people who have not watched the episodes won't be spoiled? If you don't want to be spoiled just don't read the spoilers. It would be better to ask those who don't mark spoiled content to do so. Those that do, do not ruin it for people like you.

Title The Inescapable Spoiler
What in the everloving world was that last episode??????? up until 23 the story was moving along, and I was excited…
I watched the first episode and decided to skip to the last episode to check the ending (as I sometimes do) but could not figure out was happening with the leads - so skipped to episode 23 - which made sense up until the part where he finds the box and memorial on the swing but then what? Why was he alone in the garden handcuffed? Was that supposed to be some sort of flashback? Was the banquet before the scene with the swing - or after it?

I think bengong or benwang is when a royal person call themselves in first person
No. I watch with subs as I am only a passive learner (in Mandarin) but I have learned to read much of the historical-drama Mandarin from dramas with Chinese subs. (I already had knowledge of Kanji radicals so was able to look up historical and Classical Chinese characters.) I am not interested in learning to speak it or to learn learn the tones. But I am recognising more and more spoken words in dramas - most of which would be useless in the modern world.

Hahaha everyone speechless that the little girl took the big bad down. Also, it looks like from the ending screenshots,…
Do you not consider this to be deserving of a 'spoiler tag' for those who have not yet watched this episode?

Well, as a linguist, I was curious when first I started watching these dramas and consequently, I have spent three years learning a a strange hybrid of historical-drama/ Classical/ Modern Mandarin.

It’s like saying Qi «I/myself»
(I, the owner of) this palace - only for female royalty.

ben gong is for royal females: (I of ) this palace; benwang '(I ) this king' but don't forget that in some historical states / dynasties, princes call themselves ben wang.

Well, Ben gong means '(I of) this palace' the same way that Ben wang means '(I) this king', and ben guan means (I this) official. The humour is entirely in the status mismatch (the butcher is a semi-literate commoner) and the misinterpretation of a royal pronoun as a name. But the word 'Beholden' supplied by the translator does not reflect this joke at all other than to show that she has committed a social faux pas (pronounced 'fo par' for those who don't know).
