I wonder if Ruoyao is really a Jiang… her mother is really cold…cheated on her husband with her ex lover then…
Is this something you know from reading the novel? Otherwise, how do you know that she was not having the affair with the artist before she was married to her husband? Given the scene with her father, it could be that she was hastily married off to Jiang because she was pregnant.
I have never understood how the second lady Jiang was accused of the (attempted) killing of her mother (read step-mother) and her brother. (Why 'brother'?) In the beginning we see that the stepmother threw herself down the stairs. This could have been the artist's child that she wanted to get rid of. The other daughter could then be a Jiang. What do you think?

Thanks for the detailed reply. I can see that you feel quite strongly about it but I am not in a position to comment either way because I stopped watching after ten episodes or so. (I did ff through the last episode but didn't think much of it.) The FL seems to have ten times more lines than anyone else - she never stops talking - and it was driving me nuts! I hope that you can find something more to your taste. 😊
Wow, this is really sad. This show started in a great manner and hat a lot of good themes and actresses and actors…

This is quite long but also quite readable. I read this before watching the drama and it helped me to understand or see things which otherwise I might have missed.
everyone is a villain. He is threading muddy waters.
Thank you. Yes, I saw that she fancied him, but didn't realise that things had gone that far. Of course, I know that the drama has toned down his 'affairs' with women.

Are you saying that this scene, whether explicit or implied, was in the special edition but not the original? (I have just rewatched the original but not seen anything to suggest this.)
I'm really disappointed that Joy of Life Season 2 isn't available in my country (PH). Last year, while waiting…
I, too would have suggested myasiantv had the person below not already done so. However, it is not an official site. The site itself is safe enough as long as you you do not click on any ads or notifications. (I have used it for years with no problems.)
