unrealistic and frustrating

I tried giving this drama a chance to like it but finding it so disappointing and very frustrated with the story. It is very unrealistic for the female lead who had a crush on the male lead and following him around. Very unrealistic for a the male lead to allow a fan (stranger) to get into his circle. How can a stranger (female lead) who had a crush on a celebrity and be able to get through the security, mistaken as girl friend, allow to ride in the bus with the team and so forth. The way the female lead chasing and following the male lead (who doesn't really know her) around and able to get into his circle of friend and team is nauseating. The female lead is supposed to be intelligent and gifted but too stupid to follow her crush without thinking about her own safety makes me angry about the whole story.

Must watch! Amazingly good drama and acting especially for Xiao Zhan. Love Ji Chong.

Heard how much Xiao Zhan had worked on this drama, I am so impressed with him after watching the wolf. He said he had to take lessons and write an essay/report every night after filming to reflect about his character/role. It really pays off as he did a great job as Ji Chong. The story is very touching and there are several scenes where I need tissues on hand for my tears. Darren as the wolf boy did a great job in portraying his character from child hood to when he became a prince. I love all the action scenes where he jumped and moved like a wolf. Li Qin (Female lead) did a great job as a mature princess but not as convincing when she acted as a younger girl. I love Xiao Zhan's portrayal of Ji Chong, carefree, masculine, handsome and playful. He had shown clearly how he matured in this movie from a carefree bounty hunter to a prince. He was a happy guy as a bounty hunter with no worries but when he went back to his family as a prince, he had to take on the responsibilities. I liked the relationship between Lang Zai (Male Lead) and Xing er (Female Lead) when they were young and playing in the forest but I was rooting for the Female lead to fall in love with Ji Chong (Xiao Zhan) in the later part of the story as the ML is still responsible for the death of FL's family and Ji Chong had sacrificed his own safety several time to save and help the Female lead. But I am still happy with the ending where Ji Chong ended up with someone who loves him unconditionally (Bao Na).

There are so many crying scenes and also full of great fighting/action scenes.

thriller, great suspense, keeps you guessing for the culprit

This is a very well made drama with attention to details. It keeps me interested and involves so many characters to keep you guessing for the culprit. If you are expecting a love story, this is not the focus here, although there are some sweet moments between the main leads but it revolves around team work, perseverance, supporting your team behind the scenes, and loyalty.
I suggest you read the plot first to understand the background before watching the drama so you'll understand why there are so many characters involve in this drama. If you like suspense, you will not be disappointed. Without spoiling the movie, I would say the bad guy is not what you expected it to be. You will appreciate the relationship between peers, friends, family and etc. As usual, Seven Tan delivers it and made it believable. Her acting is natural and became the character in this drama. She is totally different from her other roles in Go ahead, Dear Mayang street, etc. She has great chemistry with the male lead as always. I wish she had more scenes in this drama but I guess with so many characters involved in the plot, they have to save scenes for other characters to evolve.

touching story of loving others willingly

This is a very touching story about 3 main characters who choose to love unconditionally.
1. Seven Tan' (MXX character) who are so smart and worked so hard to get the best grades academically and winning the top spot in top university but ended up sacrificing her dreams to study locally and take care of the family specifically her dad and letting her younger sister fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. Her mom has done well business wise but too selfish with her own ambition and sacrificing her own daughter, asking her to give up her dreams to go out of state to study. I think she could handle the business and manage her husband's health care herself but she didn't have a good relationship with her husband (constant fighting, etc) I didn't like the fact that both mother and the younger sister could stand by and fulfill their own dreams while the older sister who deserved to enjoy the fruits of her labor (worked hard to gain good grades and top spot in well know out of state university) ended up carrying the family burden alone.
2. Timmy Xu (OXJ character) - who also sacrificed his education to join the police force because his dad's unfortunate event (framed for a crime working as undercover) and also to take care of his grandmother. He loves MXX but could not reveal anything about working with the gang and bad crowd as undercover agent. He was misunderstood many times and accused wrongly but could not defend himself (working as undercover). He sacrificed his love for MXX for their safety and could not fulfill his own dream to become a detective/police officer.
3. Yi Dong Dong - who loves MXX unconditionally and willing to help her without expecting anything in return. He is just happy to watch her live happily. He followed MXX closely just to be by her side and support her quietly. His love for her is selfless and pure.

this is truly a remarkable story how the 3 main characters show their love for a friend, family and others.

As usual, Seven Tan, Timmy Xu and Jun Feng's portrayal of the characters are spot on. Seven Tan's acting skill and versatility continues to amaze me. Her acting is so natural and not forced. All of her films are so enjoyable to watch. She is so under rated. She can act so cheerful and also quickly makes you cry in all the tear jerking scenes.

Love the story line and performance

Read one review from someone who didn't like the big age gap between the two leads but that's how the story is. ShiYi (Seven Tan's) character is supposed to be 16 years old marrying his older brother-in-law when her sister died. At first I didn't understand why they choose an older actor (male lead) to portray this character Ling Yi but that's what he is supposed to be, an older guy who is already a general. Although there's a big age gap, I am not surprised to see Seven Tan and Wallace (female lead and male lead) have great chemistry. Seven Tan' is such a great actress and she makes everything look so natural. She works well with any male lead you pair her with. She is the queen of Chemistry and can work well with any male lead. With any Chinese historical drama, the men of the house always have a legal wife (matron) and several concubines. I love the deep relationship between Shi Yi and her mom. I love her character Shi Yi , strong but gentle, knows to survive and being independent. She and her mom were cast out without any support from the Luo family but they survived by selling her embroidered products. I like the pace where they have to show how she overcome all the challenges thrown at her, and slowly gained her husband's trust and respect. I like the fact that she is not afraid to speak up when she was wrongly accused. So far, I am enjoying watching the drama and will continue to watch it every night . Looking forward to see all the episodes. I love seeing how she solved each issues/problems as they arise (either caused by her own family, concubines and mother in law).

Abusive and obsession in any relationship is bad and should not be encouraged

I am so disappointed with this drama as the relationship it portrays should not be encouraged. I especially did not like the fact that it is not OK to force yourself to someone you like , not OK to sexually and mentally abuse another person and keep pestering them to accept your love, not OK to kidnap someone and raping him. This is not acceptable especially with all the young teenagers watching this drama who are easily influenced by social media and films. No one has any right to force themselves on you. No one has any right to pester you and following you around because this is sexual and mental harassment. I do not like this drama and every episodes are showing how one male lead is forcing himself to the other male lead. No wonder this drama is banned because we should not encourage this type of drama. Not acceptable in any relationship at all.

funny, inspiring, moral lessons and entertaining

Love this drama. I like the plot and the many life lessons about friendship, loyalty, family values, and personal growth. I like the fact that Seven tan portrays the strong female character "Ning Meng" who did not give up her dreams in spite of all the struggles, problems and people who tried to stop her from doing what she wants to do. Seven Tan played the character very well and her acting performance is so amazingly natural and convincing. You can feel all of her emotions when she was happy or sad. there were many funny moments as well as touching scenes that made you feel her frustrations. I also like the pace of the drama how the main leads develop their friendships , trust and love as they work together. I also like the strong character of Ning Meng (female lead Seven tan) who didn't give up her projects and trust her own feelings about the value of the projects and did what she can to resolve the issues to make it successful. Everybody who works with her trust her because they know she is trustworthy, honest and has integrity in the business world. She never cross the line and will stick with doing what is right.

tried so hard to like it but failed in the end

I watched this drama based on recommendations from youtube and the reviews here. Unfortunately, I lost interest after a few episodes, went to watch other drama and came back to continue to watch this where I left off but got bored again and repeat the same cycle until I forced myself to watch it to give it another chance. The pace is so slow and many fillers. There are also so many side stories to fill the long episodes.

I got so annoyed with the female lead character (XuanJi)with her acting. When she played the naïve girl without 6 senses, her acting is not convincing and came out as overacting to portray being dumb and stupid but actually came out as aggressive. There are so many scenes (cringy) where she is forcing herself (or her friendship) to ML (SiFeng) so aggressively, following him around and not letting him go (yet trying to portray that she is innocent without feeling anything for him as she is supposed to be heartless and can't feel love or pain). SiFeng is trying his best to avoid her and yet she kept following him around (even at this stage, she doesn't have the capability to love/pain yet, hasn't recovered her 6 senses) Even after she gained her senses, she is still blinded and so stubborn when everyone is telling her to honor her sects/clans and abolish evil.

SiFeng - his acting as cold and emotionless character in the beginning is good and convincing. He has a stone face look most of the time and only shows some emotions during the lovey dovey (romantic) scenes. I liked him better at "Noble Aspirations I and II".

BAi Shu (Lord Flying snake) - I like his character and acting the most. Bai Shu's role is interesting, funny and keeps you awake ( I honestly felt asleep many time watching the show).

Hao Chen's role as the king of heaven is also very good (calm, self confident, authoritative and commanding respect). His care for XuanJi is very convincing as well.

I will not rewatch this drama. It did not keep my attention.

disappointing drama with famous actors

This is a film that was talked about in the social media and overly praised by media because of the two main leads. I love Zhao Li Ying in Princess Agents and have high hopes before watching this drama. I was so disappointed in this drama because I could not feel any chemistry between ZLY and WYB as a couple but more like older sister and brother. ZLY is not believable as a 16 year old girl and matching her with Yibo who is 10 years younger than her is very apparent. I was so disappointed as I am a great fan of ZLY. I also didn't like the whole setting as it looks so unnatural (fake). The pace is so slow and lost interest so many times. I dropped this drama so many times and watched other show and then come back to this later on. This was a highly anticipated drama so I was really disappointed that it didn't turn out what I expected. Hope ZLY will get better offers to appear in the drama that suited her. Yibo 's acting is OK but not convincing nor natural since he is pretty new in the acting community and has not attended any drama/acting school like others so I am sure he will get better in the coming year.

touching story and inspiring

this is such an inspiring and touching drama that touches several aspect of life, relationship, loyalty, perseverance . frustrations of most teenagers growing up in China trying to pass and get selected to the fine universities of their dreams, the over whelming stress they have, lasting friendships etc. it also reminded us that no matter how tough life is , as long as you have people around you to encourage you when you failed, to have people to be there to support you when you are down, someone to fight for you when you feel helpless, loving parents to be there for you, sacrifice of parents to enable their kids to be successful in education to prepare them for their future, etc. It really takes a whole village to raise a kid to be successful in life. I watched this drama many times because it is that good. Seven Tan as usual delivers and make this so believable. She had shown how good she is portraying as young teenager in high school all the way to a professional photographer. There are so many crying scenes in these drama and you really feel for her frustration, love, sadness, desperation, etc. I never get tired of watching her as she is so natural. All the three main leads did such a great job including all the supporting casts. I love all the side stories about her friends, the problems of youth studying hard to get good grades for high school and colleges examinations, the desperation of some teenagers who cannot cope with the stress of examinations , etc.

Worth watching them.

Thank you CCTV for making these drama/films. I watched all the previous episodes including the latest one where Xiao Zhan is (Ep 7 and 8). I woke up at 4:30am PDT just to watch it live broadcast at CCTV to show my support for Xiao Zhan. All the episodes are very touching and inspiring. It is amazing to see how the community help each other to beat this pandemic. I am so grateful to all the health workers, doctors, nurses, common citizen, soldiers and everyone involved to help each other during this crisis. It takes a community to overcome and control this pandemic. These films teach us how to live harmoniously, loving one another, helping each other out and stand together as a community. Every one in the world is going through this crisis and these film continues to remind all of us how to handle issues and beat this pandemic.
It is so nice to see Xiao Zhan. He portrays Cai Ding's character and really hit the spot. His acting is so natural, the way he interacts with his mother in the story. I can't wait to see him more in his upcoming 3 films.
Congratulations to CCTV for making these films! Let's spread positivity and love!

Disappointed with this drama in both acting, story, and production

I was truly disappointed with this drama after seeing how people talked about it and was so overly highly rated due to BL nature. After watching the untamed, I thought they will produce a similar or better quality BL drama but it is the opposite. I didn't like the acting nor the chemistry of the leads. The ghost clan chief (one of the male lead) is way too overacting and forced. He is too annoying and getting on my nerve. the other male lead is not too bad as his character is supposed to be odd, cold and stone faced. I lost interest after watching the first 5 episodes and drop this drama to watch other films. Came back again to give it another chance, after watching episodes 12. So far, I am very disappointed with the story, acting, background setting, etc. It looks like a low budget film as the overall production is nothing to boast about. I was hoping the actors will be better in acting as they both had been in the business for awhile and had acting/drama educational background.
