It truly is and knowing history behind it makes it even sadder, the word sad tho is an understatement, I’m so invested in the drama the romance and what ever feelings it brings. it’s just great, the comedy at the start was a great way of luring more of us but I will ultimately stay til the end come what may

i personally think we got explanation on the tattoo and deeper insight as to why duk im's rejecting him the whole time and it carved the way for him to be crowned as king cause no way king yeongjo is gonna let go of sole heir, and of course this is a realistic episode . that's how things went down back then with all those conspiracies if one was the sole heir of a dying /old king .. i wasn't expecting an easy ascending to the throne especially with this story yeongjo, sado, and lee san.
