king is smart and powerful ... indeed
oh yeah the king is too smart ... he can read people too easily .. like her read the room in the queen's headquarter and figure that it was her pplan to involve the young grand prince..but anyway he also plans to let his nephew ascend the throne .. he has a soft spot for him ... he was a bit disappointed to hear that he asked the queen about the baduk instead od him and he asks him very softly and he is very nice to him unlike queen Dowager .. lol so if that's her revenge then lee in and her plans align ... he has feelings .. in the end of ep 6 he had to stop what he was doing cause he was too focused on the thought of her and couldn't focus on anything else and he went to see her ... he's hoping she forgives him one day ... we're gonna see him protect her a lot as the drama progress

I'm with you on this. I think she is definitely clouded by her emotions rather than looking at the facts. I don't…
i wonder if she will .. i have a feeling she may be too far in so to abandon her revenge means to get herself killed some other way for him

The dying king's final wish was that Lee In would find out who poisoned him and punish them. If Lee In is still…
i explained somewhere why he wasn't exactly being mean on purpose and i'll tell you what i think of his behavior : he's just flaunting his power as king and being angry to mask his guilt.. and he said things he doesn't mean too ... as soon as she left in ep 6 after the intense convo, he remembered when she was imploring him to save her friend and he turned his back on her ... he is still angry with how things turned out he too blames himself .. deep down her hating him haunts him and he doesn't wanna hear her say it out loud .. victim of the circumstance ..................... it's just his defense mechanism at work ... i think he is because he can't bear to hear her say the things he already knows .. he is tormented by the fact that she almost died unjustly and that he couldn't save her

also and note this : after the scene of all of them in the queen's headquarters he and mong woo have a convo where the king's features soften upon hearing her say she expects him to help her, and he answers you STILL expect me to help . now this sentence is important because this sentence gave him hope that she will put her faith in him again and that she didn't lose it completely , gave him hope that she might forgive him one day .. poor king fr .. he felt like she will redeem him the past and what happened .. he's still is angry clearly because of how it all went down .. he remembers how she implored and how he had to turn his back on her ... this is is gonna break me lol i'm officially all for the king ..

did you also see his soft spot to his nephew ( he isn't having any kids too so his nephew ascends the throne ) :( nothing breaks my heart more than when a sweet soft loving caring soul is forced to turn cold wrathful cruel and merciless ... that's what they turned him into .. it's all the fault of myung ha's father scheme to make him a traitor he isn't in the eyes of the late mad king and even after his death in the eyes of the ministers and also the queen dowager who clearly conspired with his uncle to poison the late king , his beloved brother in order to make him ascend the throne ...

yes exactly her feelings got in the way big time .. he was also a victim of what happened .. man if you look closely at the convo ep6 .. the king was being this jerk to mask his fear of hearing her admit that she hates him, he doesn't wanna hear it cause he already knows .. it ate him away .. he was hiding his guilt and that's why he looked like a crazy ruthless jerk .. i feel bad for him .. he even said things he doesn't mean ..

gonna put this out there
after thinking it through i'm on the king's side now .. used to be on hers " felt bad for her friend and tried on understand her but come on guys .. she forgot that the intial problem was myung ha's dad ??? if i were her i'd be more angry at myung ha and his scheming dad .. his dad literally caused the mess and ordered the torture that led to her friend's death .. the king indirectly " as she said killed her friend "cause he couldn't save her and that broke her heart ..her broken heart and disappointment is blinding her a bit and clouding her judgement ..

yes gurl ..i know right lol .. probably betrayal disposal .. i don't think they can take him down any other way, they can't kill him he's too powerful .. after thinking it through i'm on his side now .. used to be on hers " felt bad for her and tried on understand her but come on if i were her i'd be more angry at myung ha and his scheming dad .. his dad literally caused the mess and torture than led to her friend's death but because the king broke her heart ..her broken heart and disappointment is blinding her a bit and clouding her judgement ..

oh yeah he had a look after saying that speech as if he was thinking back on those days where he went crazy because…
oh yeah me too.. no he said she died unjustly .. we don't know the whole truth but i thnk he knows she is innocent that's why he said "‘A friend who trusts and relies on you, A friend you want to and must protect at all costs, The kind of friend that gives your life meaning, If such a friend loses their life to a wrongful death, one may go mad’.. notice the use of wrongfull ... it eats him away what happened three years ago ..

The king knows she is innocent and yet he is so incredibly mean to her like scary intimidating. Is he acting this…
no it's just his defense mechanism at work ... i think he is because he can't bear to hear her say the things he already knows .. he is tormented by the fact that she almost died unjustly and that he couldn't save her

Title Captivating the King Spoiler
she might try to use the young grand prince to her favor in revenge - just a theory, i just finished watching ep 6 really liked what mong woo did to help the queen and later on his honest convo with the king

anyway for now she will definitely proceed with the revenge but she will get tried of the amounts of the times the king will save her life in the palace and remember i said so when the time comes .. it is gonna overwhelm her because he will be the one saving her from all the trouble .. did you see her facial expressions once he showed some softness at the end of the episode and promising to protect her

poor king felt happy upon hearing she expect him to help her .. he felt like she will redeem him the past and what happened if he does protect her now .. his still is angry clearly because of how it all went down .. he remembers how she implored and how he had to turn his back on her ... this is is gonna break me lol i'm officially all for the king .. did you also see his soft spot to his nephew :( nothing breaks my heart more than when a sweet soft loving caring soul is forced to turn cold wrathful cruel and merciless ... that's what they turned him into .. it's all the fault of myung ha's father scheme to make him a traitor he isn't in the eyes of the late mad king and even after his death in the eyes of the ministers and also the queen who clearly conspired with his uncle to poison the late king , his beloved brother in order to make him ascend the throne ...

he already can't keep keep his mind offf of her
