One day a drama writer somewhere is going to discover that you don't get sick because you remove a single article of clothing or because some water contacts your skin. But that won't be today. (reference to episode 7).
Man I ended up marathoning it yesterday and am now on ep 14.The story is not new but the directing, cinematography,…
You wrote, "The male lead is only 1 year older than the FL". But Wang Yang is 48 and Landy Li is 26. By my maths, that makes him 22 years older, not 1 year older.
A special episode has been released: https://youtu.be/gjF_dLzP7CU Its not a new story. It is some re-edited scenes from the original drama, followed by some behind the scenes clips. If you watched the drama and enjoyed it, then this is definitely worth a watch.
Ofc a cheater who destroyed a family and her spouse should get a brutal ending. Why are u even being defensive…
Here's a suggestion. [Expletive laden insult deleted]. And after you have done that, I suggest you get some counselling for your deep seated emotional problems.
...very Something in the Rain adjacent. A lovely, vibrant and captivating story if you're into mature romaces.…
Please tell me there isn't an insane psychopathic evil parent who's entire reason for existence is to cause her adult daughter misery and lifelong trauma, just like there was in "Something in the Rain". That character spoiled SITR for me.
I enjoyed this drama, but I will admit I was expecting better after reading some very positive reviews. The acting was generally fine, but without being amazing. I will say that I particularly like Freen's acting - she seems very natural and believable. For me, Becky often looks unnatural - like someone who is acting. My biggest gripe with this drama were the action scenes, which were (in my opinion) generally pretty bad. The choreography and acting in the action scenes was clunky and amateur and often just made no sense. The fact that every one of the bad guys was comically incompetent didn't help matters. I sometimes found myself giggling when I should have been on the edge of my seat. I do still recommend this drama, especially if you are a fan of GL dramas. Like almost all Thai dramas, watch it with your brain switched off and with realistic expectations and you will likely enjoy it.
The acting in this drama is some of the best I've seen in any Chinese drama. Landy Li's performance in particular is exceptional. And the writing is also excellent. I've not even half way through this drama, but unless it falls off a cliff in terms of quality, the existing score of 7.5 is a joke. (EDIT: I've now finished the drama and I still think the 7.5 score is absurdly low. I've scored it a 9). If you enjoy sophisticated, realistic modern dramas with nuanced and flawed characters, then do not let the MDL score stop you from watching this gem. It's not perfect, because a perfect drama doesn't exist. But things that I didn't like will probably be different from what other viewers didn't like, so I'm not even going to mention them. They weren't really big issues anyway. I do want to make one more comment that will be in the spoiler reply.
Is it good? Is the romance enough? Is the couple exciting? Please help im in a slump
Just my opinion, but I wouldn't choose this drama to get you out of a slump - not unless you absolutely love this sort of costume drama with dozens of characters and multiple complex sub-plots all intertwined. You really have to concentrate while watching this drama or you risk getting lost. But its MDL score is very high, so obviously a lot of people love this drama, so consider that as well.
3 episodes in and I'm really enjoying this drama, even despite the massive plot holes, the hysterically bad "action" scenes and the comically incompetent bad guys.
Dropping it after 5 episodes. I was hoping it would capture the magic that the Korean original had, but in my opinion, it really doesn't. But don't let my comment put you off if you are considering watching it - plenty of viewers really liked this remake.
