I decided to drop this one. Its not that it is terrible, I just found the style of the drama a bit childish for my personal taste. It felt more like watching a cartoon than a serious drama. But it has a very high MDL score, so obviously plenty of people disagree with me.
The original American series is one of my favourite shows. This Korean version is a decent remake, but falls short of the original. But its definitely still worth a watch. 8/10
The subtitles make it so hard to understand what is going on...I'll try next year ðŸ˜
Of all the "unofficial" streaming websites that have this show available, I've found https://myasiantv.al/to-get-her-2025-episode-1-english-sub/ has the best English subs. They get the women's names correct 99% of the time, and I've only seen them get pronouns wrong a few times.
There was (and still is) confusion about how many episodes this show will have. Originally it was believed there would be only 10, but we now know there is more than that. I would suggest you simply ignore the countdown timer for now.
I'd bet money this is just a typo. I think they meant 19+, probably because they will show some tits, but obviously not Shin Hye Sun's. Korean A list actresses do not do nudity.
Voluntary mutism is one of my most hated features that writers use in their stories. Specifically when a character has important information (usually to clarify a misunderstanding), but instead of speaking the one or two sentences that would immediately solve the problem, they stand there with a stupid expression on their face and their mouth hanging open as the person who needs to hear the information slowly walks away. It's very lazy writing, and is so stupid, I find it immersion breaking. People that stupid would struggle to breath.
Can I ask what is the age gap in the novel? I'm fine with age gaps (I loved "Blank"), but I'm just curious about…
Thank you. Is the novel good? I'm considering buyng it. I've downloaded the sample, and will read it before deciding whether or not to buy the whole book.
I havent started but whats all this drama about Riwon and editing episodes? Where can I watch the episodes before…
The first two episodes are NOT edited - Riwon is featured heavily in those episodes. She was mostly removed from the episodes after that. The makers of this show decided to "remove" Riwon when they found out that she had worked as a Cam girl in the past.
A fluffy, low angst, relaxing and romantic drama. Like 90% of the Chinese dramas I've watched, I think this one also would have benefited with a lower episode count, as I found the story lost momentum sometimes, especially in the second half. Also, it was nice to watch a drama without sociopathic demon parents for a change. My score 8.5/10
You should just be honest and stop pretending your issue here is with the purity of the English language. Your issue here is that you don't like trans people. You don't think they should exist. But they do exist.
The word "gay" once meant "happy". It now means "homosexual". Do you ALSO disagree with this "thoughtless shift" in how this word was defined and used, because the change was "rapid" and "forced" Or does your objection only apply to issues or people that you personally don't like? Are you merely "happy" in your area? People talking past each other is much more a product of their poor attitudes than it is a feature of an evolving language. Accepting people for who they are reflects maturity and humanity. Rejecting people because you personally don't like who they are reflects arrogance, immaturity and entitlement.
Please learn to read. I did not say (nor do I believe) that words "have no meaning". The English language constantly evolves. It has always done so and always will do so. EVERY word in the English language was made up by someone at some point in the past. The meaning of many words has changed over time, sometimes subtly and sometimes dramatically. The invention of new words, and changes to the meaning of existing words, has not prevented us from being able to communicate clearly with each other today. This refutes your assertion that the changes in the meaning of a few words (which just happen to refer to something you personally don't like) will result in the "damage the flow of communication". If you live in a free society, you are free to hold transphobic views. I'm sure plenty of people will agree with your views. (I'm sure many of them would also hold strong homophobic views). But my view is that people who feel so entitled that they get to dismiss a person's identify simply because they don't like it should just grow the hell up.
