With "Love Senior", the difference between the uncut version and the cut (i.e. YouTube) version was the uncut version had longer kissing scenes between the girls. Perhaps the same thing will happen with 23.5.

After "Blank", I plan to re-sub some of the low budget Thai dramas on the @hourchannell. All of those subs appear to also be auto-translated. Those mini-dramas are really amateur, but they are cute and I enjoy them.

You've motivated me to try redoing the subtitles myself. I've just finished Episode 1. You are more than welcome to use any of my subtitles if you want. I actually created a YouTube page just for this. As I'm sure you know, it takes AGES to do them and get all of the timings right. But I enjoyed doing it, and I picked up so much of the story that I missed by just watching the show. The link is in the spoiler reply.

My opinion now is the Korean version is better, but I still enjoyed the Chinese version. It really will come down to personal preference. There were some things I preferred about the Korean version and some things I preferred about the Chinese version. I suggest you just start watching it, and if you like it, keep watching it, and if not, drop it and try something else.

True - but unlike Western actresses, no Korean A-list actress (upon reaching A-list status) has ever done such a scene. Those 3 actresses you mentioned are NOW A-list actresses, but all of them did their scenes at the very beginning of their career when they were unknowns. They wouldn't perform such a scene now as it would hurt their career. Even Lim Ji-Yeon's sex scene in "The Glory" was done fully clothed, even though that drama did contain other nudity.
(EDIT: Actually there is one exception - Jeon Do-Yeon. But doing those movies DID hurt her financially. She lost product endorsement deals after the release of one of her movies with explicit sex scenes.)

I'll continue with the first episode as its not hard subbed. I actually enjoyed doing it.

The main thing I will do is try to make the sub read more clearly if possible, especially for a native English speaker. It was too short to really tell the story properly. If you're a fan of GL, just watch it because its so short, but I found it underwhelming. 6½/10 from me.

They are trimming some parts out of the novel. I hope they don't trim too much out. I'm interested in seeing how closely the drama follows the book. One thing I'm pretty sure they'll completely remove is Anueng's interesting romantic preferences (wink).

I'm clueless about this, so forgive the stupid question. How do you use your own subtitles? And if it is something that anyone can do, would you be willing to share yours? I agree that the only weakness with the drama is the low quality English subtitles.

I find it interesting when I see an actress (e.g. Kim Joo Ryoung) in a drama who did an explicit nude sex scene when they were younger (Plum Blossom). I often wonder if they regret it now they are older, especially considering how conservative South Korean society is. Although in her case probably not, as she did a topless sex scene only 2 years ago in Squid Games.

In the same year that she did this (essentially soft porn) movie, she also played an innocent schoolgirl in "The Harmonium in My Memory". I'll give her props for the diversity of characters she has played. Also, having a very young appearance helps.

That doesn't explain his expressionless face. Good actors can play a cold, emotionless character and make it look like a cold, emotionless character, rather than an actor with limited acting skills. His face is often (almost always) frozen when he acts. Also, I've seen him in another drama in which his acting was similar. If you know of a drama that he was in that showed some acting ability, please let me know. Unlike most people on the internet, if I'm wrong, I want to know so I can change my view.

I love them both, but I love "Blank" slightly more.
