You're right, with a country like China, having good character is important esp if you are a rising as an idol. BL is someone I'd place in the middle of the 90s and 95s line up because of ability to move across audiences/fanbases. If Yuzheng manages her career properly and not overwhelm her with loads of idol dramas, she has a great path ahead.

I think its a natural transition esp someone at this stage of their career. Finacially its a smart decision as they will be more intentional with their spending/travelling and save resources. Also constantly being in the public, overwhelms her brand, not being readily available mystifies her a bit and keeps people longing for more.
