Person Peng Xiao Ran
Please give my girl all the best scripts and roles!! Love her!
I co-sign. Our girl is way too talented to be wasted on such lukewarm adaptations and cameo roles.

Now that I found out that the novel is moreFL centric and she has more initiative than portrayed in the drama, I'm put off by it.

The novel is messy, has misunderstandings, and Cangcang still gets scolded but I think the biggest problem was…
Exactly. The plot isn’t aligning with the characters’ established behaviors at all. The villains, in particular, have become almost comical. Their schemes lack the subtlety and careful execution you’d expect from genuinely clever antagonists. And the dialogue? Half of it feels completely unnecessary, like filler lines inserted just so every character has something to say instead of something meaningful to show. It’s as if the writers forgot that good storytelling is built on actions, not empty chatter.

I had a feeling that was the case. From the start, Cangcang’s demeanor really tells the story of a carefree young woman yet fully capable of standing her ground when it mattered which suggested the novel was meant to be FL centric. They watered her down just to prop up the male lead which is beyond lazy and cheap writing. Do the writers not realise they could’ve had a real hit on their hands if they’d kept the female lead as she was and simply refined the storyline? Why on earth do these adaptations keep flattening characters, especially the women, when the source material clearly gives them so much potential to grow alongside the ML? If it wasn't for Ranran, my ass would've left ages ago. I am exhausted.

Your girl is nothing but a trouble maker who wreak the havoc wherever she appears... never ever believes in right…
Not going to argue on trouble following her but the writer completely wasted what could've been a great chance for genuine character growth. Rather than developing the characters in any substantial way, the writer has fallen back on tired, predictable tropes. At least make the tropes feel fresh and or reframed in new way.

Two genuinely talented actors are completely wasted on such an overused, poorly written web-novel adaptation. It’s frustrating to watch them pour real skill into a story that relies on recycled tropes and shallow writing. There is nothing amazing about this drama aside from its cast.

Is the novel just as messy as this plot? I feel like the author loves a troubled but heroic ML. It's getting tiring watching his silence be a token of his love and protection when Cangcang is more than capable of protecting herself. Can someone respond back when she finally finds out. I want my leads esp my girl to be at ease.

I need a rouge carriage to run over the Grand Tutor and Empress Dowager. They legit feel like comical villains to me.

So the Preceptor Du is CangCang's master missing child. 🤔
I always thought it was Princess Ying as she has a knack for poisons and stuff.

People acting like Cangcang applied for the job of Empress instead of being forced into it lol of course, she's not going to do a great job, she didn't want to be Empress lol

These two are giving me heart problems. But I understand, where there is deep hatred, there is often even deeper love. Which of the two wins in the end determines everything in their story.

I need to apologise to the Preceptor, my girl the only person speaking reason to the Emperor this point. I hate this "keeping her from the truth to protect her" trope the most. It reminds me of the traindwreck of dramas from 2016! PXR is my girl so you know I am gonna be around.
