Ao Ruipeng's styling in this, especially the Fox costume with the blond wig, is reminding me of the androgynous looking elves in The Lord of the Rings. And yes, it reminds me of Dylan Wang in Love Between Fairy and Devil too. But then again, they do look alike. They have very similar features that make them look almost caucasian with makeup.

I know what you mean. I've been a fan of his since his The Blood of Youth days and this is his best look in any drama, modern or historical, to date! The reuters for his upcoming dramas look good too so I'm looking forward to those dramas as well.

This! Fan Yue is a softie who has to act tough because of his position. He most likely has a tragic past. He's a typical tsundere. He acts as if he doesn't care but he goes out of his way to make sure his so-called "pawn" is safe and is kindhearted deep down. He looked so embarrassed when Bai Shou showed him her neck and accused him of taking off her clothes, so he's most probably a virgin too. lol

Well, based on the upcoming dramas this year, I don't see any CP that comes close in terms of looks. So yeah, we can declare that now. Of course this is subjective as I find them both terribly attractive. lol I don't find many Chinese actresses beautiful so there's that. Others will most likely disagree, though.

Apparently, Ruipeng finally made an Instagram account. Good for him! lol It's good that he's getting a lot of positive attention because of Moonlight Mystique. Here's to more leading roles for him!

Most likely a dummy account made specifically to downvote competing dramas. And apparently, some people found the review useful as well. Must be other dummy accounts made by the same person. lol

I don't get the early reviews tbh. I'm good with the early ratings because when I was a lurker on this site, I used to come here just to check the early ratings and comments. It helped me make decisions on which dramas to watch. But the reviews I don't get. How can you review a drama you haven't even finished?

So another dummy account submitted a "template" and generalized negative review that could've applied to any other drama. Must be a supporter of Guardians of the Dafeng because they rated that one a perfect 10. I'm also watching and enjoying that drama. Why do people have to put down one to elevate another?

They do have similarities. Some people even mistake them for one another sometimes. They could play brothers in a comedy series. I can only imagine the chaos they would cause. 😂

That's what I heard. Not sure if it's true but I'm inclined to believe it because I don't think Ruipeng would've been cast as Fan Yue if she hadn't intervened. I expected them to cast Dylan Wang or someone his level. I was surprised they got Ruipeng for the role.

They get along so well. I heard she handpicked him to be her leading man in this drama. I was wondering how Ruipeng got the gig because he's relatively unknown compared to someone like Bai Lu. Maybe a second male lead in her drama but never her leading man. It makes sense if she requested for him to be her ML in this. I'm glad she did because I like them both so I'm just happy to see them together in this drama.

I very rarely support a CP as I'm not really into romance and more into BL or bromance. I would like a hetero pairing here and there, but rarely become a fan. The last time I shipped a CP was Zhou Ye and Hou Minghao in Back From The Brink. They were the perfect pair! And now here I am again. I'm so sorry, Zhang Linghe, I like you but I am officially shipping Lulu with Ao Ruipeng. 😄

I did a little digging. It's actually not a new account and the username does seem familiar, I forgot where I saw it though. But I did notice one thing about the review. It looks like a template for negative reviews of historical dramas, which is weird since this is a fantasy drama (xianxia) not your typical historical drama. The complaints are too general. It didn't criticize certain aspects of the drama, making me think that the author didn't really watch it. Another weird thing I noticed is the author only submitted two reviews to this site, the other one got a perfect 10, but both dramas they reviewed are marked as "dropped" instead of completed. The account doesn't seem to be active either even though it was supposedly created more than 2 years ago. It seems to me that it's a dummy account or a second account created specifically to upvote or downvote certain dramas.

Somebody here mentioned that this drama is giving them The Beauty and the Beast feels. I'm inclined to agree. In fact, I think that Fan Yue had a traumatic childhood and was somehow cursed. He needs the Desireless Stone and someone who can unlock its powers to get rid of the curse. He only plays at being cold and distant or might've become like that because of his past traumas. Predictable but I must admit, I do like this trope. lol

Most likely Jing Yuan/Tian Qi, Fan Yue's god form in his previous life. The role was portrayed by Liu Xueyi in Ancient Love Poetry. But in this drama, I don't see the actor in the credits yet. I would like to know who plays him.
