It would have made more sense for the Zhushui emperor to be the final villain. After all, he had been orchestrating…
I agreed with you that Emperor ZhuiShui feels more like the ultimate villain, he was the one that started to want to conquer the realms for power. STL was corrupted by the dark powers and a sad misguided kid. But here they decided not to give him a redemption arc, which I am also fine as he has done too much harm. Actually I felt STLās actor was also too inexperienced to hold this role.
I wanted to watch this but after reading the reviews - its a tough call.... The positive reviews are all superficial…
FLās lying has a background to it. If you follow her journey, you will understand, itās actually quite tolerable based on the story arc. This story has lots of typical XianXia tropes, however what make it impressive is the leads chemistry and how the story was told. If you enjoy a typical XianXia, you will like this story;).
Ep27. When did he give her the millet? If he hadn't destroyed it, why didn't he give it to her sooner? Edit: Nevermind,…
It will be explained in next ep. But if you want to know JBZ cultivated the GMD and put it in the pancake and gave it to her in the forest when he met her. It will also be mentioned why he didnāt feel the need to tell MY. Btwn miscommunication is part of XianXia trope, a must have. lol!
Normally I canāt really stand whining, child-like female lead. But somehow Lu YuXiao in this role, I can accept and find her very adorable and even when she behaves coquettishly, she is just too cute.š
The Empress' acting has been very confusing to me, and I mean the acting of the actress, because in her scenes…
I think itās the script here that tries to give her a redemption arc of showing that she is not exactly a selfish villain. In the novel, she is just terrible person. So here, they make her show mixed emotions trying to let the audience feel that she is also helpless in her position and in order to survive and make sure her child survives, she made that choice to exchange. If audience canāt feel it, it just means the directing and acting is not giving tha right vibeš .
What episode are you on? because they have come clear with their feelings heās even said he loves her. I donāt…
Not sure whether you got to the part where the story explained that HG is a deadly poison, and those who being experimented with it, many would die, some rare ones survived but would still be poisoned and needed GMD to neutralized the poison hence GMD was designed. So GMD is the antidote and an improved drug. Hence people search for GMD and not HG.
Off topic a bit: There are quite a few dramas that just started airing, what are you watching during downtime…
Thatās the common question on Sword and Beloved page. If you want to know the background story of the ultimate villain and why MLās father behave in such a way to ML, you should watch Love in Pavilion. However Sword and Beloved also have re-cap to help you understand the story, so you can also skipped that prequel.
Actually I felt STLās actor was also too inexperienced to hold this role.
