I always wonder how it would have been for ML, who was from adolescent, grow up, traumatized in novel world and went back to real world to be teens again, to relive that journey to adulthood in modern lives. But I guessed it’s different as growing up in novel world definitely different experience than growing up again in real world.
I hope the script here keeps closely to the novel storyboard.

It’s not exactly love in the beginning for ML, if you watch on you will understand the reasons. This director starts with capturing the viewers with the aesthetic and sets, the story takes a while to unfold. It’s quite true to the DongHua.

Yes as Ti02 has replied. He was unaware of the novel story, and he suffered a lot being stuck in the novel for 15yrs hence he was so jaded that he didn’t care anymore till FL appeared.

Ep 9 and 10, it’s revealed briefly via flashbacks that ML transmigrated into novel as a teenager…
So he lied to FL that he came few days before her. He lied about being a CEO and also lied about being a actor.
He has been stuck in the novel for more than 15years…poor soul.

I didn’t read the novel. I watched the Donghua.
The drama is confusing at this point but if it follows the original source, the story will be revealed slowly.

There is no third one from modern world. The novel has three books and it also has storyline of SFL being a transmigrator in the novel storyline. So that’s why FL knew SFL’s name in the novel. I believe the drama will reveal the storyline along the way as further ep being shown.

As what Ahjummai above mentioned, if based on original source material, SFL is a 2D written character in the novel, she transmigrated in the novel. But ML and FL are both from real world.

Yeah Meng Meng is a 2D character in the novel, so pretty one track minded😅. Her romance with 2nd ML was also rather boring to watch.

Transmigration into novel???

Yes SFL is a transmigrator from modern world to Xie Yong Er but SML, Xia Houbo is not a transmigrator.

SML is not but he is very smart and he can scheme well and guessed that FL is not from his world.

Doing comedy well is not easy, too little or too much can spoil the show however this director is actually quite good in capturing comedic moments with camera angle, with the over the top, colourful and theatrical comedy reminds me of watching a Japanese animation, which is very fun, but do not be deceived as underneath there is actually a serious plot that is waiting to be uncovered. Note: this is not just a comedy.
Both Ryan and Wang ChuRan nailed their roles. I am more excited to see how Tang Xiao Tian play out the villian SML, don’t remember seeing him in such villian role previously.

Guo Rong needed to be away to do and build stuff, to work on his grief and being involved in rediscovering his meaning to live again…he came back a better ruler.
Guo Wei is such a resilience and strong character…the amount of baggage he carries and yet able to do his part as a ruler…I have tremendous admiration for this character.
Feng Dao is another level of a wise smart character that can survived for century.

That’s so true…sad to say. Sometimes one can cut ties but for some culture cutting ties is never an option or will be frown upon for decades.
