I do not quite understand Pei Zhen’s hostility towards Xiao Zhi Yu. It’s kind of felt forced and inconsistent. Let’s examine what we seen so far: XZY is better as an architect designer, who won awards and won over some business competitions from ZhuLing, but that only means that XZY is good in his area of work. Why does it creates such personal anger that PZ had on him? PZ is not an architect, he only manages the company, so if any other good small architectural company won your projects, one should be wondering about his team of architects and not a personal grudge. So if you say it’s from a step siblings’ relationship, XZY has always manage his studies on his own, independent and also choose to distant himself from his mom. So PZ has love from stepmom and resources from father, so why is he angry at XZY? He blames XZY for keeping the name Qin Xiao Yi in VR game, but what’s that got to do with him. It’s not like XZY has a choice, his name was changed by his own mom, and can’t he even keep it to remember his own father? Why is PZ so fixated over this matter? My only explanation is PZ wants a brother and when his step-brother chooses to ignore him, he becomes angry, and all his behavior towards XZY is just to gain his attention. If that is the characterization, then it’s a pathetic character who do not have a goal to live for himseld. Maybe that’s why he would fall for Hu Xiu, and be so jealous of XZY. HX gave him new perspectives to ponder on and she is also the ‘light’ in his darkness and narrow-mind. Too bad we all know he won’t have HX, so his redemption arc will have to be something he could do in his work role.

There may be no universal rule towards cheating, and one can say it depends on what one couple considers as cheating, and another may find it acceptable.

I am not sure which ep you have seen. Have you see their msg and how he allowed the other party to kiss him? So because of work necessity, you can allow the opposite sex to take advantage of you, such as kissing and spending time or even leading the other party on, that you reciprocate the relationship? If that’s not a form of cheating I don’t really know how you define that behaviour? It can be reasoned that he lacks boundaries, but even so, there is a line you won’t cross in relationship. When one already have a spouse, going outside and entertaining others using your “love” or “physical” gesture, that is betrayal in relationship.
I just want to do a brief analysis on Wang Guang Ming’s cheating behavior, and it should not be generalised to all cheating behaviour. WGM is a hardworking man who genuinely strives to do well in his work and want to give his wife a better life. He is shown to love his wife and their relationship appears stable and loving so why does he cheat. Because it’s to satisfy his ego. I do not doubt he loves his wife however having your junior throwing herself at you, admiring you, he caved and he probably thought it’s a secret that he wouldn’t need to reveal to his trusting wife. He can reasoned it as a moment of mistakes or impulse, but I also felt it’s a choice. One can always say “no” to such advances, whether it’s man or woman, we are not wired by only impulses, so the moment he felt he can across the line, he has already betrayed their love, so I can fully understand why XiaoRou is decisive in divorce.
