I have another perspective. I felt the author is showing despite all the adversity and torture one can go through. XL’s heart as a demon snake is actually pure and kind. So when someone shows compassion to him, it makes him believe and doesn’t hate the world. Like that scene he brought WXL to see the moon, he said to her “as long there is such beautiful scenery, it’s worth living.” A beautiful sad character, and I agreed with you, he deserve more😭.

Fully agreed. But he also has the other virtue of upholding his promises. So hence he has always see himself sacrificing in war ulitimately. Such sadness and yet selfless love. I wonder in recent ep he heard from TSJ that TSJ can do things for XY and not need to let her know because he does it for her well being, is where XL got the inspiration from to do all those things that are good for XY and no need to let her know.

Yeah, and he watched a lot of vampire movies to figure out how to bite neck😆. Hardworking chap.

hahaha…so it’s a trend to treat viewers like children, and need to buffer us for SE. lol! I can’t stand most of the Disney movie nowadays, using the same formula again and again, gets too boring and predictable.

Agreed, a break after happy moments definitely easier for time to pass.😅

Yes, I agreed. I do think with what had happened, he would be dead by then. That’s so true about his name, I see so in Buddhism, lotus is symbolic. I feel one of the key theme for this drama is about fixation vs letting go. So LLH finally ‘let go’. I guess the bromance can continue for FDB and DFS now;).

Ep 30, today’s ep was so intense!!! I was almost holding my breath for XY, TSJ and XL.

That will be refreshing. CY has a solemn face and always does so well with sad emotions. Can’t wait to see his more jovial side and no blood spat 😆.

Some thoughts: Ep39, was an adrenaline pumping ep., love that the trio is back! Epic fight scenes between LLH and SGD; FDB and DFS; including everyone, all have a brief clip of their battle. And FDB’s underground training really help him to improve his fight skills, thanks to SGD.
Somehow I wasn’t at all surprise by the ending twist or LXY’s birth origin, had a gut feel of it for a long while, so my guess is right about him. Just wonder why his teachers never feel the need to clarify or tell them both earlier. SGD is really a tragic joke. I pity Jiang LiQiao’s death, good that DFS ends it, but that scene felt flat for me, maybe expected her to have more epic death.
And the end ep. 40, everybody was just gathered at the beach and saying regrets of not saving LLH…lol.
I am also puzzled the purpose of the epilogue - the director wants to give audience a guessing game of LLH dead or alive. But I guess he is likely dead, based on how he was. But would have prefer an alternative ending where he and FDB and DFS went travelling. Guess the team just don’t want him to live after all these.
IMO overall this drama is a good watch till the last 7 ep., I just felt suddenly everything speed up, rush and the villain became single track minded, repetitive in some dialogue sequence.
I am still processing with mixed feelings that it ends.
