Well written and succinct review. I am glad you finished this. As you, I find this WuXia’s theme quite real and true to the classic WuXia universe, the generational issues were pretty complex. As pointed out, the execution could have been better to sustain audiences attention; the casts done pretty okay. Love the portrayal of Cai PingShu as a tragic heroine, and I was surprised that I enjoyed this more than I expected and rated it 8/10 too;).

In this set up, she is his childhood friend and should know his character, but she didn’t persevere to wait for him. As he thought she will.
SML is not the hero, it’s an unconventional love story, and second chance may be too late. In other type of romance story, maybe SML’s character will get the girl. lol.

This is not a straightforward romance, it’s complex, matured love, so the theme is grey. If you are looking for clear cut love, this is not.

The themes are focusing on themes of reincarnation, forbidden love between humans/demons, and the "Unity Alliance”, if you enjoy such themes, you may like it. The sequence of watching:
Love in Pavilion then Sword and Beloved followed by Red-Moon Pact.
Its not so much of mystery but misunderstanding. The evil forces creates a lot of fake situations and misunderstanding for the leads to manage (GJM uses that part in Moon Sect and LWY’s story).
Personally I like the first two series, plot and acting much better, dropped the last one as didn’t quite like the acting.

Based on this story, her character was guilty that she didn’t choose to trust SML. If ML didn’t appear in her life, she may still be single and may choose to reconcile with SML after his real indentity is recovered.

This script writer has written some good scripts adapted from novels but there are also some not so good… hopefully this will be one of the good ones.
I always enjoyed watching Allen REN’s performance in costume dramas.

👌🏻Understood. The FL’s indecisiveness and initial loose boundaries can be problematic. Fortunately SML is also a man with dignity and backs off when he senses that FL has move on. If he is to pursue her and play on her guilt, I am sure it will result in affairs…but this is not that kind of story.
Enjoy other dramas, no need to stress with one that is not working for you🤍.

Yup, Gong Jun and Yang Mi is in one of the series, it’s a trilogy: Red Pact Moon, Sword and Beloved (ChengYi and Li Yi Tong), and prequel to it is ‘Love in Pavilion’(Liu ShiShi and Zhu YunLong).
The harder and undetectable the villian may be, makes the winning more impactful and meaningful to watch🤷🏻‍♀️. It dos make the story very dramatic to watch😂, with lots of death and sacrifices especially such strong villian.;)

Well FL is in love with SML even after he abandoned her, she stays single till the persuasive ML came into the pic. She has to sort out her past feelings before she can receive her new romance. It’s a mess indeed.

In a cast interview, Elvira Cai who played FL said, she is also not sure what’s so special about her character that can make two men fell for her so deeply😅

This is really a safe, easy and happy watch with an inspirational themes such as career aspiration, healthy relationship and kinship as well as friendship. Gave me a fluffy feeling from beginning to the end.
