So the ending was the empress crimes were not exposed. The truth of the conspiracy was covered up. The people…
Just felt bad for ZhuLin, although his revenge act was too destructive. The villain gets away and learn no lesson and no consequences. That’s the part, I find hastily wrapped.
Dropped so many potential clues, but ultimate none of them are related…hahaha. Purposely mislead the audience.
Another thought, why the need to mention about Lan Jue’s wife and son at the end? I didn’t read the original novel, was that originally there or added for this drama, if so, that’s really serve no purpose.
Totally understand why Lan Jue and Zhang Ping made their choices in consideration for the big picture and greater good. However somehow felt bad for ZhuLin. The current emperor is also a great king. Just that I am not sure have the Empress learn her lesson? However everything wrapped up nicely and happy ending. It’s definitely a fantastic drama for me, with mystery, suspense, friendship, brotherhood and making hard choices.
What the heck!! ShuLin is PeiZhi's zhi ji / soulmate?!! When did THAT happen?!MoWen, come over, I have cookies.…
Agreed! Was being cheeky. Lol. I haven’t reach the part about Lan Jue having a son. Zhu Lin annd Lan Jue are definitely besties, envy their friendship to each other. Technically Zhu Lin is not the ultimate villain and he has always been true friend to Lan Jue.
It's a three-fold story, First, the tax was initially paid by all the counties in the prefecture as raw silkweight…
Thank you very much. It’s so much clearer with your explanation. 😍 I heard of ‘Nirvana in Fire’, released a couple years ago right? I haven’t get to see it, heard it was good. I totally get it now on the three fold story. Can’t wait to see how it unfold. Really appreciate your sharing.;)
In the latest ep, 7, I am still quite confused with the taxation issue and official involvement. My guess that the mystery seems to involve ML’s deceased parents and they were kill because of taxation conspiracy over 10 yrs ago. Smart plot set up, but can it be concluded by ep 14?
Chen RenQin is a lawyer that can fight!. The actor, Wang Yang that plays CRQ is a very seasonal actor, brilliant acting. Interesting to see how the MLs talked about how message was sent in olden days.
I wish this drama focused more on the main leads. I don't have anything against side characters and I hope this…
J-drama tends to be like that. Focus on side plot and slow development of the main plot. They’re obvious chemistry since beginning between two leads, yet the story just don’t let them confront it. Or it’s a major reflection about Japanese culture on not expressing their love openly…it’s only 10 ep., same feeling here that hopefully the second half has more progress.

It’s funny to see the messenger running to pass news. Lol!
