rowoon's dramas always gets good reception and engagements on the american and western market of netflix idk why…
Ah sorry, thought you were referring to the Global Top 10. And yep, you're correct if it's U.S. Top 10. K-dramas, most of them anyway, seem to pop in and out of the 10 quite quickly.

Finally properly watched Ep 12, and gotta say I loved this drama. Loved every character, but especially the two women, Park Jin Hong, his sister and the grandparents (beautifully acted). A wonderfully written drama. Will be on the lookout for more series from Min Sun Ae, as this was a delight from beginning to end.

That's actually not true. K-dramas starring big stars like Rowoon and Jo Bo Ah are almost guaranteed Top 10 on Netflix during opening week. Especially as Korean dramas are one of Netflix' most watched genres (they released a recent stat saying around 60% of Netflix subscribers have watched at least one K-dramas, which is a huge percentage).

What will be telling is if it stays there for a few weeks like King the Land and See You In My 19th Life did, or if it sinks fast.

My guess is it will probably sink as it's already sinking in Korea after Ep 2, and reviews for it so far are mixed, with a fair number on the negative side.

Edit --- And I hope I'm wrong, as I never wish dramas to flop. The cast and crew put too much work into them.

In my opinion, she is a good actress…she did variety of characters, though some characters like Tale of nine…
Wow, what an ass you are :)

Her Tale of Nine-Tailed character was well-written, she's just not that talented of an actress to portray the character well unfortunately. With a different actress, her character would have been wonderful. As she was the one cast in the part, the character was annoying, IMO, and subsequently with very little chemistry between her and Lee Dong Wook.

I don’t like how the FL is written and acting in this drama,
She's incredibly unlikeable so far. I have a feeling this will end up being a drop for me.

Hopefully this gets better as the first episode is average at best. I was bored stiff 20 minutes into it and struggled to finish it. It will be a drop for me if it continues with this level of writing. The overly-dramatic acting style is really annoying too.

Only 6 episodes in, but really enjoying this one so far. Sure, it's not the best-written drama of them all, but it's entertaining and the performances are great. Seems to be doing better in Korea as well, as the last episode was its highest rated so far.

Second episode much better than the first -- will continue watching this to see how well it turns out. So far, though, the characters are interesting and, if the writing is like that of Ep 2 going forward, it could be a great watch,

rating doesn't mean the drama is good or bad - rating of Miraculous Brothers (amazing drama) is sad...
It's doing badly in Korea as well. Lowest ratings in that KBS2 time slot for a drama all year.

what a waste the leads chemistry, their chemistry is beyond good but yet they wasted this story potential and…
I think they are the least interesting thing about the drama. Jae Won is about as interesting as watching paint dry -- has to be the blandest actor in South Korea -- and Jin Hee has temper tantrum after temper tantrum making her extremely unlikeable most of the time. I would have stopped watching it if it was just another same-old same-old rom com with the most boring leading couple.

I don't like the mom at at she doesn't care about her daughter all only her boyfriend also why the hell did she…
I guess if you wear a short skirt and get raped you're "asking for it" too with your logic, eh? That's one of the dumbest comments I've ever read on here.

Thrilled to see this drama doing so well in South Korea too. Every episode since Ep 1 has had rising ratings, so that Ep 9 last night earned almost 4 TIMES the rating of Ep 1 nationwide, and even more than 4 TIMES the rating of Ep 1 with Seoul viewers. And, with 3 more eps to go, I doubt it has seen its highest rating yet :) Just thrilled for the actors, as every performance in this is superb.

My fave in a long time. Like you said well-written and with amazing characters. Love everything about it and shocked…
Oh you're right. I hadn't noticed that. Then I am even more blown-away by how beautifully written this is, and especially the characters. 😍

The sister who had her friends beat up a pregnant teenager. The same sister who is responsible for his parents…
Yep she led her friends to beat up Eun Mi, That scene in Ep 3 or 4 (I think?) was her shouting about "you deliberately went after my brother" as she and her friends kicked seven levels of sh(t out of Eun Mi. A similar scene as we saw later on when a similar group of girls beat up Ga Eul for being "a slut" because she's pregnant.

She also spread rumours about Eun Mi in school, thus destroying what was left of her school life.

And sure, Ji Eun might make her brother food, but she also wants to be able to completely control the life of her now-adult brother and, along with that, the life of the woman he has always loved. The woman (then-girl) who she deliberately helped ostracize him from when he was still a teenager so he couldn't see her.

Meanwhile, she has her own family and life, but doesn't want her brother to have one of his own.

And now she's having a temper tantrum and DEMANDING they stop seeing each other because she isn't in control anymore.

Plus, remember, she wasn't even that nice to her brother when she was a teen, talked about him being "ugly" etc.

Personally, I was thrilled when he said "I'm changing the door code". Serves Ji Eun right for thinking she gets to tell him how to live his life and he must obey her :)

And no, I wasn't surprised Eun Mi behaved the way she did in that scene. She knows what harm Ji Eun caused. To both Eun Mi herself and to her brother. Eun Mi had to bring up a child alone and wasn't even able to see him to tell him she was pregnant, as he had already moved away.So her sticking out her tongue and looking superior was her getting her revenge, Even if it was in a petty way.

It seems I am the only one left in these comments, who still loves Eun Mi. I love how she is so 'eff you' to everyone…
Both women are fabulous, IMO, and two of my favorite Korean characters in a long time. :) Will be re-watching this soon after it ends, as it is rare to find a drama with characters this beautifully written.

This is absolutely beautifully written -- characters, scenes and dialogue -- beautiful. Every character is fabulously crazy (the relationship between Eun Mi and Jin Hee is wonderful and so authentically believable), every plot point is nicely linked to every other plot point so it all makes perfect sense, and it is genuinely laugh out loud funny.

Haven't laughed at a drama this much in a long time (the scene in Episode 9 where the three women start yelling at each other at the restaurant was superb :) It is also one of the few dramas that I really wish was 16 episodes, as I could watch Choi Soo Young and Jeon Hye Jin in scenes together for days.

So glad I started watching this. It has been pure enjoyment right from the first few minutes.

From 1st episode to till this one I'm thoroughly entertained. I love how dynamic each character is, I LOVE THEM…
Me too. The drama is one of my favorites of these year. Beautifully written and with a complicated but absolutely real relationship between mother and daughter who really do love each other, even if they sometimes have a strange way of showing it.
