JTBC just made an enormous mistake. They have "apologized" for the scenes featuring Samir. The result? Already…
Because if you think Arab men don't drink alcohol or spend time with girls, you obviously haven't left the Middle East. I've lived all over the world and seen more Arab men in bars, with girls in Thailand/Vietnam/Cambodia etc, than I've had hot dinners.
Sure, you can pretend it's not happening and your culture is "better" than the west. Guess it might be until wealthy Arab men leave the Middle East and have the freedom to do whatever they want.
KTL was No. 1 in the Netflix Weekly chart last week, this week dropped due to release of two new shows. #7 i guess…
Yep, Had gone down to #7 on daily chart on Saturday, and likely would have fallen further due to the new shows, but the Arab boycott bumped it back up.
Same thing is happening to See You In My 19th Life where crazy Arabs are now leaving messages about boycotting that drama (different drama, different network).

There is no way they can remove enough scenes to satisfy the trolls. No matter what they do at this point, the crazy Arab trolls will still be pushing their vendetta.
It's a huge shame. The drama is briliant, there was nothing wrong with those scenes, if anything they made Arab men look cool, fun and kind.
But because of this awful behavior from Arab trolls, now even more people will dislike Arabs. A shame.
JTBC finally apologized! Although it's regrettable and a bit late, hopefully all parties involved can forgive…
JTBC just made an enormous mistake. They have "apologized" for the scenes featuring Samir.
The result? Already trolls all over their Instagram DEMANDING they remove the scenes. When will these Korean production companies learn, you NEVER apologize to trolls.
ROTFL, I know :) And also #1 in Qatar, and the UAE today. I love boycotts, they almost always help a project become even more successful. :) (Unless you're Bud Light -- LOL).
Years ago, I wrote an article slamming one specific country (won't name it here :). My article got linked on a news site in that country and it got spammed by over 130,000 of the country's citizens calling me every abusive name under the sun. (Even though my points were well-researched, 100 percent accurate with backing data, and agreed upon by every human rights organization on the planet)
It got so many views, I made enough money off it to buy a new $2,500 computer on top of what the company I wrote it for had already paid me -- LOL.
In other words, JTBC must be loving life right about now :)
Ikr they are getting spammed with racist comments and even death threats now. I can’t imagine how much a toll…
Yep, the controversy has given the show a huge boost in the Netflix ratings. It had dropped to #7 mid last week, and is now back at #3 per Netflix official numbers.
I expect it to be back at #1 when next week's data is released :) JTBC must be loving the abuse from the Arabs. It makes the Arabs look terrible, while JTBC is simply enjoying the drama's record high ratings :)
the build up before the kiss was very good, from when she entered the cafe. like you can feel the tension
Yep, exactly.
The whole scene was beautifully done, from him trying to impress her, her being nervous but thrilled, the food, the water scene, the glass breaking and then, of course, the kiss.
Beautifully written and filmed. And, of course, acted.
King the Land is #3 on the Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows for last week. That's actually up from the #7 position it had fallen to a couple of days previous.
I expect it to be even higher when the next data is released :)

I think you will like it. I watch a shit ton of K dramas (entertainment journalist, write about boatloads of them) and I watch a heckuva lot on 2 x speed just because they don't grab my attention that much. This one I have absolutely loved, and rewatched several scenes that were beautifully done as well as watched the whole thing on normal speed.
There is a scene between YoonA and Junho where they are waiting in a line for a restaurant and then eat dinner there (Ep 7 I think?), and it is so beautifully done, I watched it 4 times and laughed out loud every time :)

Sorry ignore that comment, I've just deleted it (fast response by the way :) -- I thought I was on the See You In My 19th Life page when I wrote the comment -- so edited it to include my comments about King the Land (which I love, btw :)
People how is it ? Does it have that business proposal vibe?
Better I think, and I loved Business Proposal. It's even sweeter, hilariously funny as YoonA and Junho's comedic timings is fabulous, and the characters are wonderful. Highly recommend. There's a reason it currently has an 8.5 out of 10 rating. Although, honestly, it should be higher. So good :)
Girl he's been doing that since 2016 in Memory. The man is a powerhouse, he books projects because he's got the…
Oh sure, but I still think that's the best kissing scene he's done yet :) Everything about it was beautifully done.
And yep, you're correct about him having the all-round goods :) He works hard to have them though -- just watched a video this morning where he was talking about working out for an hour and 20 minutes 6 days a week (and a pretty strenous workout) and only eating 1,200 calories a day for an extended period of time (very very healthy food too).
Rewatched that kiss scene last night. Honestly, it's right up there with Kim Jae Wook's kiss scenes in Crazy Love. One of the best I've ever seen in K-dramas. I think Jun Ho will be hired for dramas from now on because he can do THAT -- :)
This drama is far from perfect but I totally buy into the OTP, they have my heart and That’s What matters the…
It works really well because the chemistry between the two is off the charts, IMO. It wouldn't have been anywhere near as good if they had chosen an actress who wasn't as good with comedic timing or banter, but YoonA is superb at it. One of my favorite K-drama pairs right now :)
I started this cause I couldn't resist youtube shorts anymore :D I'd say that creators really tried to give some…
Humor is really good, isn't it? I rarely laugh out loud at a K-drama, but this one has incredibly funny scenes in every episode. A big surprise to me how much I'm enjoying this, as rom coms aren't always my favorite genre.
