Avoid Mango TV like the plague. Their subs are always terrible and so their shows aren't worth watching. I don't watch dramas on bootleg sites often but if it's a Mango drama, that's where I always head.

Because the drama was superb up until about Episode 24 and then it's been a slow careen downhill since. Many people have a lot of time invested in what WAS an excellent drama, and are now infuriated that the writing has become so poor.

It should have been a 25-28 episode drama, then all the terrible writing and ridiculous situations wouldn't have needed to occur just to drag it out for 10-13 more episodes.

The dubbing with Ni Han Jin's role (who I always find incredibly creepy) looks like he's speaking English and then it's dubbed by someone in Chinese with a much deeper voice who, honestly, should find a different job their voice acting is so awful. Horrible. (Although he's a no-talent actor in his own right anyway).

But, the drama itself is surprisingly good for a short drama. Electric chemistry between the leads, a properly-developed relationship that, even with its ups and downs, makes sense, the script is nicely written, and it's quite funny in spots. Both leads were perfectly cast for their roles as well as they play so well off each other.

A nice surprise, as I'm not generally into mini dramas as their scripts are usually shallow. Not this one.

No. Not a Mark Chao fan at all, and from what I've seen so many scenes are visually very dark. I dislike cinematography like that. Hurts my eyes, and makes it hard to see what's happening. So, unless it ends up getting amazing reviews, I'll likely skip it.

EDIT: BTW, In the romance genre, I'm currently watching mini drama (10-15 minute episodes) In the Grip of Love, which is surprisingly good and a pretty mature relationship between the leads to say he's still a university student, she's in her 30s. Stars Ai Xiao Qi and Cheng Yu Feng -- age gap romance/woman older -- only 7 eps in so far, but the script is well-written and it's VERY well acted. Superb chemistry between the leads too.

It translates as 'Fully Ripe' or, more poetically' 'Ripe with Love' -- maybe a suggestion that the relationship the woman is in is about to reach its sweetest (most ripe) stage, or that the woman herself has emotionally matured? Fitting for Miyu, at least where she's (hopefully?) heading, right?

English lyrics, roughly translated, are these:

That's why I haven't watched it until now. Everyone I know who watched it has told me "avoid, avoid, avoid". :) I'll get to it eventually just to see if it's as bad as I've heard.

I'm a journalist who covers Asian entertainment, and have done since mid-2002, and so have watched pretty much all of Ren's work except for Love and Crown and Silent Tides, which I haven't had time to get to yet.

You mean the one who killed the cultivators who had killed all the people at the inn and were stealing the tablets in Ep 12? No that was Lu Qian Qiao (Allen Ren). Is that the scene you mean?

It seemed obvious to me though that Bai Zong Ying ( Xiao Shun Yao) is the guy that was silhouetted against the window at the end of Ep 11, and who then killed the guy who showed up dead at the beginning of Ep 12.

Plus, I don't trust that guy as far as I could throw him. (Pity, as Xiao Shun Yao is one of my all-time faves, but his character is definitely suspect :)

There hasn't been one minute of wasted scenes so far. It's so tightly written, and with so many events being concluded so quickly. Love dramas like this, as there is no time to be restless before it's moving on to something else.

Mine too! I find people like that supremely annoying. Used to be able to put up with it when I was younger but, as I've gotten older, people who cannot make a decision and then stick to it, or pussy foot around without saying exactly what they mean/feel, drive me insane. :)

This is one of Ren Jia Lun's best performances so far. Perfectly cast for the part -- a man who only shows extreme anger, with every other emotion almost hidden, except for that tiny hint of a change of expression, which Ren does so well.
