Now I regret not watching this years ago while it was airing, it’s fabulous. Also would have been better in small doses, episodes are too long to binge
And just likie that, justice was served mafia style!!!
I loved this. It took me a while to finish because this really didn't need 20 episodes, so I was pretty much watching a few episodes a week and got distracted with other shows.
It has lots of filler episodes, great cast and a great mixture of comedy and action. Long live Vincenzo Casanova!!!
wasn't bad, draggy in spots, didn't like the ending - while happy, just unsatisfactory. Cant believe she was just never gonna tell him they had a kid if he didn't come looking for her. And someone seriously needs to just shoot the priestess lady - the whole bunch of them - causing so much damage. Lots of typical palace intrigue, the usual corrupt officials trying to retain/steel/keep power. Did appreciate a king character that wasn't weak and powerless - he actually knew how to use his position and stood up to his scheming mother. Kind of tired of the spoiled, rich girl who likes the prince/king and then goes cray-cray because he doesn't like her back added to the stupid trope of he was once nice to her when they were kids, so thinks she is in-love with him and he likes her - but when he doesn't (cause she doesn't bother to actually ask) - she loses her mind. I actually liked concubine Kim - she was just unabashedly ambitious - could have cared less about the king - she was great. FL started out smart and tough and then by the end she was the usual damsel in distress (and seriously, the whole knife sequence - how does one forget they are carrying a knife - it was just stupid!)

A flaw of this drama that I looked over initially but feel would've made a difference to audience satisfaction…
I totally agree! I see what you mean. Like when they had casted him in Bon Appetit Your Majesty as Bai Long, it had worked out so well because we all expect Jinmu level evilness from his character but he turned out to be the good one. That was a great surprise element!
In so many cases if they cast a big actor as the antagonist but also want to maintain the suspense behind their identity, it doesn't work because viewers just expect this actor to have a big role.
A flaw of this drama that I looked over initially but feel would've made a difference to audience satisfaction is the predictability and under-utility of actors...Perfect Crown seems like it had a good budget and instead of using it to flesh out the story to the 16 episodes it needed, it seemed to have splurged it on well-known actors and then not even used them properly! E.g. We all knew 'Jin Mu' was going to be in an antagonistic role because he was perfect in Alchemy of Souls and was typecast into a similar role in this. I feel like if they had used a different actor, we wouldn't have been as 'underwhelmed'...Same goes for the actors playing 'Tae Ju', 'Court Lady Choi', 'Steward Kim' and cameos from Im Chul Soo, Yoon Byung Hee and Kim Dae Gon...This is no hate towards the actors themselves, they all deliver all the time but that's exactly kinda the problem...we've seen it before...I don't necessarily mind cameos but when there's too many and that too from insanely talented actors, you can't help but feel like the role is too small for them and yet you still have to pay them what they deserve...so poor production management

There are some very confused people in this comment section 🤣 Guys, it's an adult movie. Look at the rating. Look at the leads' acting credits - they're both exclusively AV actors.
