I typically feel the same but that’s a book adaptation so they can’t completely change the narrative. And it really was the norm for that era - beyond 20, a woman would have it hard to find a marriage prospect (let alone from a good family). Remember that women would often die in childbirth in their early 30’s and their main purpose was to reproduce and for the man to continue the lineage. I think she will hopefully be close to 18 when they actually marry.

FL is the cougar we all need. I disagree with people saying she is a brat! She is spoiled but absolutely not a brat. The SML is a brat (useless, jealous, violent, selfish). She is super smart and not lazy, she treats everyone with kindness and is so generous and compassionate. But yeah, she is no pushover if someone tries to control her or is rude. Some of you can’t stand watching a young woman stand up for herself. Remember that she was literally abandoned by her own mother and father and was almost strangled and then “sold off” to a disgusting man by her stepmother.

I love how everyone is trying to rationalize the mothers’ attraction to evil dad. ROFL. Evil dad is the epitome of the ultimate f*** boy (senior version). I can tell he was for the streets in his youth and charming the ancient cougars. Both women have the ick now that they know what he’s all about. Just hope he doesn’t try to charm Grandma next.

Really? I typically find that actors don’t do a great job but I feel he’s smashing it as he emotes really well through his eyes and body language. Based on previews he will show a wide range of emotions once he is openly in love with the FL

I would pay big bucks to have the express package now. Wish they would come up with an express express deal for people with zero patience :(

ML makes me think of Ye Hua! That’s why I love him so much. Love his understated confidence and charisma. And I love how well the relationships and characters are being built. It doesn’t feel forced or random. The romantic build up between the leads is perfect.

ML is so sexy. So nice to see a manly type of actor for this role.
