I think the entire fantasy in BLs right now doesn’t give proper representation to the lgbtq+ community which…
Yeah, at the end anyone can watch what they want. Like there are people who like the chinese censored shows. The only thing I expect is not to be told something is a romance while it's just a bromance. Not that I call this one a bromance.

Well, I didn't mean they should be exactly like straight couples, becuase there are differences, but I don't think there should be so much difference when it comes to simple things like a kiss.
I don't find anything bad in showing puppy love or more innocent story, yet if I'd watch such a story with a girl and a boy I'd find it weird they haven't even kissed once or either I'd feel as if I watched a show that is meant for kids.
I haven't heard anything about this discourse, interesting.
It just feels to me that when you cut out any physical contact in such shows, then it might be closer to a bromance rather than a romance.
Makes you wonder if it's not kind of queer baiting - making you watch the show for the romance, but at the end they act like just two very good friends? if that's what you were looking for then great, but if not then you might feel a bit deceived.
Not that I really have such a problem with Kieta Hatsukoi. I thought this show was very cute. Like also "Cherry Magic". But I guess it could have been nice if those shows eneded with a kiss. Well, still maybe no kiss is better than ending it with a high-five...

Yeah, I feel like women can either be the fangirls or they are this friend that is gonna be the surrogate mother (for example in Tonhon Chonlatee which was sooo bad).
I think Tharntype was "good" mainly because the two leads really had such a good chemistry, maybe with different actors it wouldn't have been working as well as it did with them. Sure it could have been better, but the whole permise of this show was quite stupid to begin with. And well, I'm not the one to complain about hot makeout sessions. I'm more annoyed with shows that gives you nothing (like Kieta Hatsukoi which I actually do like). Mostly because I expect to see gay coupls as straight coupls, and a whole show about a straight couple without even a kiss would be strange in my opinion so it's the same here.
We can all wish for better content, but at the end even if you consume problematic content if you're aware of the problemtic aspects of it and you know how to seperate fantasy from reality than you don't really harm anyone. I mean, people have all kind of fucked up fantasies, but as long as they don't fulfill them irl then who do they hurt by having them?

Well, I agree with you. Not as if I've never come to like problematic content (Tharntype for example), but at least it's important to acknowledge that the content is problematic and to wish for improvment. I think the BL fandom has sadly many problems, mainly people shipping the actual actors together. At the end we should all remember this is fantasy. I don't think there is something wrong in liking BLs and gay content, but at the end in reality you just need to respect other people and act like a decent human being, something that to my annoyance a lot of female characters in BL dramas don't. Makes me wonder if people really act like that (I mean stalk gay couples, open fan pages for real couples, taking secretly photos of them and post it, like seriously who the hell does that?)

I didn't really called you out or something (in case it felt as if it targeted you personally), it just that I've seen so many comments on this topic ever since I strated watching BLs that I just felt like saying something.
And of course two wrongs doen't make a right. It just that I don't come across many people who criticize men for watching Lesbian content, mainly porn (which is also made for them) that is totally fetishizing Lesbians in a way I find to be much worse than BLs (cuase it's porn). But again, maybe I'm just not in the right place and people do talk about it more than I know.
I also think all this "I'm not gay, it's just you I like" to be quite annoying, but this is actually a trope you can find not only in BLs (sadly). Really hope we will see less of that. I also think the consent part in BLs needs to be changed, as I see it harmful for everyone. Like even if it's made by women for women - what are they trying to get here? women thinking toxic relationship and lack of consent to be fine? that's just fucked up.
Anyway, I get the feeling that some people do try to shame women for liking BLs or things like that and being one of these women myself I don't like it. That's why I commented.
Thank you have a nice day as well :)

Did anyone else notice that the teacher from episode 8 (Okano Ryohei) is the actor from "Life: Senjou no Bokura"? Thought it was cool :)

While I myself don't like all this "I'm straight, but I'm only into you" either, nor some other problematic stuff in BLs. It does bother me how many times I come across comments that at the bottom line just tell women they are so bad for liking BLs or for wanting to see two guys together. It's always "these horrible women fetishizing gay men", but I don't see many comments about how men fetishizing lesbians. Like, it's so obvious men love to see two women together, and sure men love seeing lesbian porn (which is made for them). Still, who's talking about it? really? maybe I'm missing something out here. Please, do tell me.
I don't say people can't criticize, or that everything in BL is fine cause it's not and there is indeed a lot of place for improvment. But somehow it always ends in
"women are the worst and harm the community by liking things like BLs".
It feels as if these comments just come to shame women and make them feel bad for liking gay stuff, but you rarely see that the other way around.
And sure you can say that one has nothing to do with the other and that both things are wrong, yet at the end I only see women called out for their fantasies\sexual preferences.

Oh gosh...I didn't realise Hyun Jun got hate for his role in colour rush. I actually enjoyed seeing him in it.…
Agree with you. This movie ending was awful. I've seen this movie a long time ago, and the only thing that really stuck with me was this ending.
It's almost like the whole movie came to say that being with a guy is worse than death.
I also believe the original screenwriter didn't want it to be changed and I'm not sure how they could avoid it either. Not killing them in the end? So will they just be together in this problematic relationship (age and status wise)? I mean, they could wait for a few years and then be together (when both are adults and not a teacher-student anymore), but not sure this solution was what they were going for.

Can you describe how it was homophobic. I've seen a few comments mentioning this on Instagram.I did not watch…
Heard of it, but not yet. I plan to. Still think killing themselves is not the answer. Better waiting for a few years and then be together. commiting suicide is quite a drastic move. It's not like there are no real couples with big age gap out there. But at least it's less problematic than the original story.

You are welcome =)
At the end it was a bad love story. If two people really love each other and have so much luck to meet again after one of them died, you'd think they will be thankful for that no matter whom she reincarnated to. But no, it went to "oh no, she is a guy now, I can't be with a guy. We better jump from a bridge and hope to meet again on the next round". Like what kind of love is that? what is the message here? - better to die than to be with a guy? like being with a guy is so unthinkable, so horrible that the only solution is death. I could maybe understand it if it was like "society won't accept our relationship", but I don't remember anything like that in the movie. I just remember I didn't see it coming, so I was shocked and pissed off by this ending.

Yes, sure. But to tell the truth I've seen this film a long time ago so maybe someone who've seen it more recently could give you a better answer. Anyway - the movie ends with both leads jumping off a bridge (killing themselves). Now, I've seen many people saying this film is problematic beacuse it's a student-teacher relationship, and they are right, but this is not the reason why they jump off the bridge. They do it becuase the woman reincarnated as a man. If they did it because of the age gap and status, I could maybe understand it, but as far as I remember the issue was really the fact she was a guy which makes it all to be quite homophobic and not such a great love story.

The problem is the manga itself doesn't have any love scenes etc. The manga is not yaoi or BL. Thai adaptation…
Haven't seen this series yet, but in the Korean film (which I recommend of) there is a bit of BL content\romance. I won't say this film was pure romance, nor the anime (as far as I recall). Anyway, if this gonna be anything like the Korean film, I would say it should be worth watching.

Honestly that’s what I’m most curious about right now. I really need to know who new Chè is.
I had no idea there was also a character named Porschè and I didn't know about the brothers' story, so thank you for the explanation =)

Do u know what parts they actually cut coz in the cast list it shows Chris Wu is there too but I didn't see him…
Yes, it's such a shame that he's only there for this short so we barely get to see him and also with those glasses, I really didn't notice it was him! not sure I'd have figured it out if it wasn't written here that his role is "Chang A Han's older brother". oh and now they put him under "Guest Role". previously it was "Support Role". Good they changed it.

He is the brother of Chang A Han. You see him in the scene when Chang sits with his family for dinner and argues with his father. He asks his brother about his girlfriend and then to borrow his bike. He wears glasses. I actually didn't recognaize him either. Only when I saw him in the credits I went back to this scene and saw it was him. So he has a very brief appearance in this film.
