I see these latest episodes not as more like different factions going to great lengths to protect what they hold most dear: status, family, and future. In such times when d8@th would always knock on one's door at the most unexpected times, people take huge measures to protect their beloved, sometimes to the point of no return. Humans are such fragile beings that a small stain can make them waver, and it's hard to keep tiptoeing on the thin line of good and evil. As of the latest episodes, we see that the villains weren't purely villains from the start; they were made to become one. These people fell victim to the deadly sins of human beings, be it due to revenge or led by desperation to count on the last remaining silver lining they have to survive....

Today's episodes are really heart-wrenching to watch (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

The villain characters are some of the best I've seen so far~ They get enough screentime to shine, and had valid reasons for their villainy. Also, that battle scene of Murong Jie's offense and Feng battalion's defence to protect their lord... I can't.. .·°՞(っ-ᯅ-ς)՞°·.

Is this "The Penthouse: War in Life" in ancient China? X'3 Cuz just look at the angst, betrayals, rebellious children, and parents going to extreme lengths for their sons...
The emperor says it's fate, but what exactly is fate? Rather than fate, it's more like what old man Murong said, "Whatever we do has consequences," and what he did was to avoid the consequence of losing his one and only son... It was his choice, the path he willingly took...

I don't know why, but when the Empress and Murong Zhong k!lled the Emperor, chills ran down my spine.. Somehow it gave the zombie drama [Kingdom] vibes... It's chilling how, when General Murong kept asking the Empress to help his son.. Those eyes filled with despair and desperation made him look like a crazed man faced to take extreme measures for his goal.. The empress, too; the bloodshot eyes when she's determined to end the emperor's life... That's some splendid acting. 👏👏👏👏
