He is not self-destructive, he is all-destructive.
I mean, self-destructive people are generally, people who predominantly are involved in self-harm, mentally &/or physically. But with Ray he is someone who knowingly introduces Mew to smoking and stuff, and intentionally hurts people just to FEEL GOOD ABOUT HIMSELF.
I haven't really seen him deliberately self-sabotaging himself per se (other than DUI, which my clinical guess is he does to feel some form of control). He seems to rather enjoy doing or hurting other people.

I don't how much character development we are gonna get in only 4 remaining episodes. But my guess would be he realizes he likes Nick, as he tries his hoe business with Atom. And realizes how truly lonely he is and tries his best to get Nick back. But still remains a bitch, but a monogamous bitch.

He is exactly what the term Hoe means. And he feels no connection, like real connection to anyone he is friends with. But then again he feels sorry for himself, like that ain't the consequences of your own actions, smh.
