If Only Friends was a multi-season show, I feel the endgames in season 5, would've definitely been:
Boston/Mew (the hoe with the virgin)! And honestly, nothing's better than the classic friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope. Just imagine Mr. and Mrs. Smith-type make-outs, with knives and guns, and bed-breaking angry makeup sex and who knows, they might even discover a kink!๐๐ฝ
Then, Top/Ray, two addicts discovering each other at rock bottom, two lonely desperate men, who happened to "accidentally" sleep together when high and have the most mindblowing sex of all time!! Connect in a spiritual way, sharing and healing together from the pain of unrequited love. Finding that two broken pieces can give rise to something beautiful. The ultimate trope of hurt/comfort.๐
And finally Sand/Nick. Nick's a little crazy and Sand knows and still, for some reason, he isn't scared of it at all, rather he kinda likes it. Nick makes him smile, calms him down, and surprisingly fits perfectly in his arms. While Nick, can't believe everything he has been begging for in his life has just been under his nose! Literally in the next room. The perfect boy, the perfect man. The all-time favorite trope of best friends to lovers, slow burn. โจ
other couples are messed up but SandRay aren't? are we watching the same show? ๐ญ yeah it was that way first…
Sand didn't know about the whole Ray/Mew situation until the fallout. Ray uses Sand whenever he is going through his whole "daddy issues/I'm so sad cause nobody loves me phase". Dude literally called Sand a whore and never apologized. And getting jealous about Sand having a good time with another person when you threw him to the curb multiple times to hang out with your lifelong "crush" is NOT romantic. It's manipulative. It's obsessive, toxic behavior. Ray pursues (or should I say stalks) Sand and then uses and throws him whenever his mood feels like it. Not messed up?? This is like the BOLDEST SCARLETT flag relationship. Sand is treated like a nanny, a rebound, a part-time booty call lover, somebody easy to use, a chauffeur BUT NEVER AS A REAL PERSON WITH FEELINGS by RAY.
OK, P'Jojo just hinted Sand and Nick might just happen.... So ๐ค๐ผ everyone, our ghostship maybe, probably could just set sail!!! All hail P'Jojo, the man can't just tease us like this and then backout!! Give us that Sand and Nick! I'll add some more meta to my NickSand agenda. Nick didn't tell Boston a word that it was Sand, but he was all ready to reveal to Mew about Gap and Boston, which can potentially completely ruin Boston's life. ( you can decide who Nick probably actually cares for deep in his heart). When Top and Sand were fighting we could see Nick calming down Sand. And also Sand never revealed anything about Nick. And he genuinely cares about his little roommate. Even when Nick was hurt by Sand (and Boston) for taking the tape he sought comfort from Sand himself and kind of just melted in his arms. They are only actual friends in this mess and sort of each other's safe spaces. Plus I get the feeling Nick moving out would break Sands heart a little too. Sand/Nick should be endgame! Oh! And you know what, they were roommates ๐
Wow, I just got blocked cause I said some of Ray's actions are just so so so selfish and unforgivable! The person, I replied to, deleted their comment and then blocked me. LMAO.
So according to you, Ray is realistic cause every depressed person is driving their cars piss drunk?? Seriously.…
All I asked was about the DUI, if you don't condone it that's fine.
Again the conclusion you drew from the study is incorrect, because the population in the paper you cited is already incarcerated, and ADHD is something that can also be acquired environmentally (with stressors) and is not always genetically pre-disposed so the conclusion that "meanwhile US mental health researchers links ADHD with probabilities of going to jail being higher if you have ADHD" is wrong because the prisoners could develop ADHD during the process of legal proceeding or incarceration, it's not written anywhere that they had ADHD prior to being jailed or at the time of committing their crime.
So according to you, Ray is realistic cause every depressed person is driving their cars piss drunk?? Seriously.…
I still haven't decided really. Am I hating it? No. Am I enjoying it? Yes, in parts. Is this gonna be my all time favorite? No way! Ngl, OF has it's moments, and it's good, but it's not as great as hype around it is. Although I do appreciate that they've allowed the audience to critique each character, which is rare in shows. (But Sand seems pretty saint-like right now.)
I'll bring something to a topic, where you might be able to answer me. I'am an aunt to beautiful boys age 10 and…
So they're curious about both girls and boys? I mean that's normal. Children that age are usually curious about literally everything. And I guess you should just try to answer their question as best as you can and also maybe explain with stuff that's age appropriate, whatever wild question they ask you. And as for not asking in front of their parents, it might just be that they think you are a friendlier figure to them, while the parents appear to be more of authoritative figures. So it could be they just feel they can be generally more open and curious around you, which is actually very sweet and again pretty normal.
So according to you, Ray is realistic cause every depressed person is driving their cars piss drunk?? Seriously.…
I don't know how Thai police or their policies on DUI relate to what I said. I am an American, so I can attest neither Rue nor Euphoria High School Universe is realistic perse, if at all. I wouldn't use that as a comparison if trying to draw a parallel to a realistic portrayal of drug usage and depression. And "hurt people, hurt people" is not realistic either, I work in healthcare directly. So to generalize that someone going through depression/drug addiction/ alcoholism is realistically performing DUI is absolutely completely wrong. Something we fight against actively that stop stigmatizing people with mental issues as the ones who commit these crimes. Hurt people, try their best to get better and not hurt others, only selfish people hurt others, whether they themselves are hurt or not.
Edit: Nobody has to be good, but stop using drunk driving as an excusable offense with pity, and romanticizing of an extremely selfish individual. You can love Ray with everything in you, just like Nick can love Boston. But no it's not realistic to be like "Oh well! he is depressed so of course it's understood he drinks and drives. This is exactly what practically happens in the world." No, depression is not equal to DUI. It is not realistic and is extremely insensitive.
So according to you, Ray is realistic cause every depressed person is driving their cars piss drunk?? Seriously. I don't know who this is more insulting towards, actual people with mental health problems or the victims of drunk driving incidents.
The thing that gets me is that no one in the show seems to care. Ray is extremely selfish for this and needs to…
Exactly. It's like brushed away like no big deal. And even the audience is more concerned of the dynamic between Ray and Sand, when Ray could be a Potential Killer of completely innocent bystanders. And people are sometimes going as far as sympathizing with Ray, who has multiple times shown he has no regard for anyone, like ANYONE by deciding to drive knocked-out drunk. Shameful.
Yeah, Iโm with you. Iโm all for the fun of messy, chaotic characters fucking up their relationships and friendships,…
Literally. I can't believe they are using the decision to drink and drive repeatedly for Ray's character to show that he is "destructive" and suffering from issues. That this could be a plot point, is insane and disgusting to me. Insinuating victimization and even pity for perpetrators of driving accidents under the influence is so absolutely insensitive to real-life victims (and also potential future victims) both from the producers, scriptwriters, and everyone else overlooking this.
I see a lot of write-ups about Ray. The Good and the Bad and also the Ugly. My thing is, THIS character literally drinks and drives and THAT is a major felony. Both ethically and legally. He needs to end up in rehab if not prison. Like how is everyone excusing this?
His relationship with Sand is exploitive and manipulative and he definitely has addiction and mental health issues, but how can anyone be excused for deliberately getting drunk and then driving? If he wants to hurt himself or whatever, he can do that without effectively putting other innocent people's lives at risk. I can maybe, with the coming episodes overlook Ray's whole attitude towards Sand due to his entire unhealthy obsession (and coping mechanism) with Mew, his dysfunctional relationship with his family, his psychological problems, and his chronic alcoholism and drug use.
But I cannot under any circumstance forgive how selfishly, irresponsibly, and frequently he drinks and drives. I hope dramas won't make this an excusable characteristic of other so-called troubled characters in the future.

By far the most toxic pair in this show.
Give us that Sand and Nick!
