why are people trying to guess their sexuality and making it bl? here as well as s1 page. just enjoy the god damn…
Why does other people's thoughts affect you and your perception? It's open media, and people have free will. They are allowed to think anything. Why do you need to instruct people what they should or shouldn't enjoy?? Nobody’s telling you what to enjoy and how to enjoy… you can enjoy any way you want.
In WHC1, Suho says to Sieun. "Maybe we were married in our past lives." Implying both acceptance of romantic and cohabitation intentions. This dialogue was not present in the webtoon.
Also, when a source material is adapted, it is interpreted, which always happens in the case of differential media adaptations. Therefore, this is not the webtoon, this is the series adapted, interpreted by the creators and the actors.
In the webtoon also though Sieun (and Suho)were bullied cause they were assumed to be a gay couple. Sieun never refuted the allegations.
Sieun-Suho shippers are so annoying on social media, especially on X. Liking them and shipping them on the show…
That's Jihoon-Hyunwook shippers, not Suho-Sieun. Please make the distinction even if they seem the same to you. And you can always report, unfollow, ignore, block posts, voice your inhibitions, and other things on social media if you dislike them. I am not supporting these actions or condoning them, but unless the actors themselves voice out their discomfort and/or displeasure at this, people can post. Just like on Instagram, under Hyunwook's latest post with Jihoon, all comments are of people shipping them, including official Netflix Korea. Additionally, Hyunwook has liked some of these comments, too.
In any case, platforms like X aren't particularly known for censorship, just 'cause it hurts sentiments or even for being factual.
Brainrot is real when people don’t even understand the word friendship anymore. Suho was one of the first real…
I suggest you write SieunxYoungyi fanfics, you know!! You seem to have a good imagination, and you’re so good at pointing out a literal blush in one scene in WHC1… (Also, FYI, this makes you a shipper too, with just a different headcanon.)
Plus allows you to spread the “straight as spaghetti Sieun with his deep, purely-platonic-totally-nothing-else-but-only -and-only-friendship-with-Suho agenda”. Win-win!
But you know, calling a spade a spade is a good thing. So, if you are spreading and fuming with divinity, at least dare to be labeled with the divine word. Like the adage goes: “ if the shoes fit….”
So you think every relationship between boys and men comprises BL. Why?? BL is a genre of it's own, it doesn't consist of all relationships between men, that's depicted in media.
And do you have copyright over WHC? Or is there a rule that media needs to be gate-kept in a singular definition?? And why are you so triggered by how people and the audience interpret fictional characters' relationships and feelings?
Especially your responses are hilarious, given that the creators and actors of this series literally said on record that there is subtext of love, romantic love between the characters.
Be a homophobe all you want, but don't pretend to have higher moral ground.
Only if you stop underplaying the director's (and the actors') words for once.
LOL yeah, at this point even if (and I am saying IF, people, an imaginary IF) SHSE say 'I love you' to each other, people will still say we are fetishizing, and they were only joking 🤣🤣🤣 and it is a DEEEEEEEP "PURE" PLATONIC FRIENDSHIP!!! And begin the onslaught of homophobic, offensive, abusive comments!!
guys please honestly is this a BL? or just a good friendship cuz if it is i dont watch it i just wanna now
Do you see a BL tag anywhere?? No right, so yeah, it is not a BL.
As an avid consumer of media, including queer media and BLs: BL is a genre, but it doesn't encompass ALL FORMS or ALL types of series dealing with relations between men.
And so to answer your question, NO, this is NOT A BL. BUT, does this series have the subtext of potential love between the characters? Yes, it does. Also unequivocally confirmed by the creators and actors of this series.
Please get some education, and try to get out of your narrow, parochial, intolerant, sexist, 5-year-old, insular mentality, instead of frothing at the mouth.
And for your complaints, take them to the director and the lead actors of this series you're commenting on.
Just say you feel two fictional characters are in love, hear it felt the same way for the creators and the actors of the said series....
(LITERALLY THE CREATORS AND LEAD ACTORS OF THE SERIES LMAO).
AND just watch how many people get triggered, spin the narrative, get angry, start spluttering at the mouth, become downright offensive, and abusive because of it.
I just want to express somethingggg. Some fans seem to be misunderstanding the nature of the main characters’…
Who said not in a "romantic way"? The Korean translation of Jihoon's description of first love literally translates to a romantic way.
Can we also please normalize finding love between people, even if it's not shown explicitly? Can media interpretation not only be gate-kept singularly?
The creators and lead actors knew exactly what they were doing when they talked of love.
Last time in their interviews for WHC1, Hongkyung suggested if Suho and Sieun kissed and still, "Even the creators mentioned in interviews that the characters are 'in love'—but not in a romantic way. They meant it in the sense of an unbreakable platonic bond. It’s heartbreaking that we’ve come to a point where close male friendships are immediately assumed to be romantic or sexual."
And as a matter of fact, nobody assumes close male friendships to be romantic and sexual. Millions of heteronormative dramas and series exist with male friendships, and none of them assume anything remotely romantic and sexual between any guys and their friendships.
And stop saying it's not homophobia when people here are being outright homophobic.
Nobody’s telling you what to enjoy and how to enjoy… you can enjoy any way you want.

Hyunwook said it was a high school romance drama.

Basically negating the understandings and realizations of the creators of WHC just because of your own opinions!
