too often tdramas ruin great moments with repetitive ill-timed music
Exactly! So glad I'm not the only one thinking so.

I just finished watching ep. 10 and my face is still wet from tears. Mark, Ohm, Khaotung and Honey did a wonderful job. There was almost no music during the last scene with Mark and Khaotung - and it allowed the emotional charge to hit with full force.

Title Leap Day Spoiler
So finally we get more information. I've already thought that the doctor has transmitted the curse to Day and…
What got me thinking was why Wiwat went from denying everything in ep. 6 to admitting everything and offering Night a solution to the Leap Day curse. And why did he even get involved with saving Dream's life? No one knew Wiwat was nearby and witnessed what happened, he could have - as it seemed at the end of ep. 7 - slowly back away and go home. Did he get involved because he saw Kit - first with Ozone and now with the others - and feared his old pal would aid Day and Night in their inquiry? Or is there a different reason - other than plot convenience? So far Wiwat was portrayed as a cold, calculating man, doing only what serves him - what does he stand to gain from exposing himself to Night?

Are we gonna see a plot conclusion in ep. 11 already, with only fluff and happiness left for ep. 12, or will the showdown be postponed till ep. 12?

Emmaly looks like an amalgam of Wakanda (a small non-Western country with vast riches, technologically advanced but upholding traditions, ruled by an absolute monarch) and Hogwarts (society split between four clans with distinct coats of arms, supposedly indicating their traits), but the image created by the show is very inconsistent and very much not Southeast Asian.
The Davichmetha clan has a phoenix in its coat of arms – not just any firebird, but specifically the one from Greek mythology. Charan is teaching at the Morpheus University – again, Morpheus is a character from Greek mythos. Latin alphabet and English language seem to be everywhere: the royal palace has the word “EMMALY” on its clock tower, the coats of arms of the four clans include their names written with Latin alphabet only, the DNA results are displayed in English (for a room of Emmalians only), even the conference call of princes Rachata, Chana and Wasin displays their full names written with Latin alphabet. Last but not least: the national anthem of Emmaly is in English. Carlton Towers, a country house in North Yorkshire, is posing as the royal palace in Davin City. Not only is its architecture nothing like anything built in Thailand, but each wide shot of that location clearly shows that it is not in Southeast Asia – you can see an English autumn landscape surrounding it. All scenes in the palace interiors and exteriors so far were taken at La Chapelle, a "luxury wedding venue" in Bangkok, which "was inspired by Venetian gothic architecture derived from the 15th century" (according to the venue’s website) and looks nothing like historic Thai architecture. And why is fencing so important in Emmaly? While it may make some sense storywise, it’s a sport which originated in the West, evolving from European swordsmanship. Asian countries have a long and rich swordsmanship history and traditions – why not use them instead?
I have nothing against Emmaly being a fairytale kingdom, but why can’t it be a fairytale from Thailand or any other Southeast Asian country – why does it have to be Disney?

I didn't get how one (rather unimportant) thing happened in this episode: when Tong was in Thara's study (you know, the big room with mostly blue walls from the Sizzy+Nanon MV for "Love Score") talking about a scholarship, Mark got a call from Thara and showed up to join their conversation. But wasn't Mark supposed to be out of town looking for Nakan? We see Mark and Thara's men driving somewhere, discussing the search for Nakan - and that happens before the blue room scene. Also, Mark left Tong at Thara's place so that Tong would be safe while Mark's searching for Nakan; they said their goodbyes and Mark left. There's the bathroom scene with Mark juxtaposed with a scene of Tong in Mark's old bedroom - again, watching that I thought Mark's away, staying somewhere out of town while conducting his search for Nakan, while Tong is at Thara's. But then they meet, just like that, in Thara's blue walled study - Mark walked in as if he was next door. Either I didn't get something or the editing of this episode was a little weird.

In the end it was all about greed...
In the immortal (pun intended) words of emperor Palpatine: "Power! Unlimited POWER!".

I know that preview is deceiving us Mark isn't going to turn on Tong right?
Pretty sure he'll pretend to be playing along with Thara's plan / official version of why Tong is behind bars - waiting for an opportune moment to strike. He should kill Nakan though - to avenge Tonkla's death and avoid Thara's suspicions.

wait until they all drop. then pay for a one month sub and binge it. I think it's like 12$. good luck!
That's a reasonable plan, actually. For what IQIYI calls "Monthly Standard Subscription" I pay 6,99$ - and the subscription can be cancelled any time.

7.9 doesn't objectively reflect the quality of first episode, it's far better than Cutie Pie that's for sure,…
Not sure I can agree that "people hate well done shows"; I think MDL rating is more about a general feel regarding a show, which can be influenced by many factors - cast, performances, plot, script, editing, production etc. People can like a show full of production shortcomings if this is overshadowed by other, good/positive aspects of the show.
I'm also not sure a 7.9 rating, especially now, indicates "hate". This is, after all, a scale from 1.0 to 10.0. One could argue that every rating above 5.5 - the middle of the scale - indicates that positive rating outweight negative ones. That being said I do realize that most people don't share this approach; when they like a show - they give it a 10.0 or 9.5, when they dislike it - they rate it far below 5.5. Quality of the show seems to have little impact on that. And while ratings from show reviews don't contribute to the overall MDL rating, they do reveal that:
- people "reviewed" the entire show just after ep. 1 (out of 14),
- most of them rated it at 10.0 (when I'm writing this comment there are 62 reviews of the entire show submitted, with just 2 of them giving it a rating lower than 5.5 and more than 50 review rated the show at 10.0).
Rating or reviewing a show after just 1 episode aired is crazy, so a 7.9 at this stage doesn't seem to mean a lot. Could it stay like that, because those who already rated the show won't change their rating when more episodes will air? Sure. Is it something to be worried about? Don't think so. At the end of the day, the rating is just a number. Even if it would correctly reflect a general attitude towards a show (which I doubt it actually does) or the show's actual quality (which it most certainly doesn't), it would still be just a number. There's a bunch of BL shows that I like with ratings that - in my mind - don't reflect how good the shows are (same goes for shows I dislike); can't do anything about it, see no reason to be bothered by it, won't that affect my opinion (or rating) of a show.
Sorry for the long comment.

Wait, did this episode have plot? Mark was in a bathtub and then boom my brain was broken
Well, the episode started with Mark and Tong in bed and ended with Mark and Tong in bed... There's a blur in between, but there must have been something. Possibly about vampires.

FEED published a 32 minutes long interview with Mark and Ohm, available with English subs on FEED's YT channel. The interview's tone is quite serious, both Mark and Ohm say a lot about themselves and seem to be candid. No jokes, no quips, just the two of them talking for half an hour.

Was there or will there be a "special" or "0" episode preceding the actual series? GMMTV usually (albeit not always) produces and releases "specials" meant to introduce a new series, its characters, cast and crew. I don't recall seeing anything like that for "Boys in Love" and got a bit confused about the series' release date: either the proper show will start airing on 20.04.2025 and there was nor will there be a "special" OR there will be a special on 20.04.2025 with the proper series airing a week later. Which one is it?

not even another episode aired and people are already complaining on episode 1i think people need to watch more…
Problem is people don't seem to share that opinion. Restraint is entirely absent - and the option to rate/set score of the entire show before it airs in its entirety (or simply once ep. 1 aired) doesn't help that. Same for reviews - so far 17 reviews of the show as a whole were published, which is simply ludicrous (compare that to mere 3 "reactions" to ep. 1).

SurfJava have started filming https://fxtwitter.com/MUTELUVSeries/status/1902267717031194924
I'd say that explains why the OhmLeng split and recasting had to be announced now. I was pondering the question "why now?" and assumed it was either due to something that happened recently or due to something that was about to happen - like filming "Only Friends 2" or "9 Temples?" about to begin. Looks like GMMTV had a "now or never" moment.

TBH it’s not as good as I thought it would be. I’m on episode 7 mind you but so far it’s dragging and seems…
Unpopular opinion, but it's what bothered me too - not enough BL stuff in this BL. In case of some episodes the BL content felt like an addition to the boy band/idol content. I guess they had to compromise - having an actual boy band as their cast. I'd say "Only Boo!" used the idol-related content better - in service to the main plot, which was a classic BL one, and not rivaling or replacing it.
